Nghe An: 25/27 socio-economic targets in 2016 completed and exceeded the plan

During the week, under the chairmanship of comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee met to listen to and give opinions on the socio-economic situation, national defense and security and budget in 2016; orientation of tasks in 2017; plan for implementing public investment in 2016, orientation of public investment plan in 2017 and some important contents of the province.

2016 is the first year of implementing the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2016-2020, the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2015-2020 term; continuing to implement Resolution 26-NQ/Political Bureau with determination, striving and enthusiastic competition. Under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, the efforts of the entire political system, business community and people, the socio-economic situation in the province has had positive changes.

According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, among the 27 main targets set by the Provincial People's Council for 2016, it is expected that 25 targets will be completed and exceeded the plan; the remaining 2 targets will be difficult to achieve (GRDP growth rate, service production value added growth rate).

Speaking at this meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh emphasized: in the context of general difficulties, Nghe An still achieved 25/27 socio-economic targets, which is a positive signal. In which, the agricultural sector and some localities were praised for their efforts in building new rural areas, especially mountainous districts such as Tuong Duong and Thai Hoa town.

Regarding the direction, tasks, targets and plans for 2017, the Provincial Party Secretary said that with the current development momentum, completing the set targets is very feasible. However, it is necessary to closely follow the socio-economic development orientation of the National Assembly to build the right development orientation. Regarding the agricultural sector, it is necessary to follow the national target program on new rural construction, the issue of restructuring the agricultural sector of the Central Government and the National Assembly, and build 3 separate projects for pilot communes and pilot districts of new rural areas.

Regarding this issue, Mr. Nguyen Huu Cau said that at the recent National Assembly session, the National Assembly delegation of Nghe An province made a recommendation to the Ministry of Industry and Trade that no more hydropower plants should be developed. In the coming time, the National Assembly will supervise the activities of thermal and hydropower plants and support people in overcoming the consequences caused by hydropower plants.

Project handling is one of the issues that many Cua Lo voters have petitioned to the National Assembly. Voters' analysis shows that suspended projects in the area have caused waste of land resources and people in the planning area when they want to change land use rights.

This store is located on Nguyen Van Cu Street, Vinh City, with a prominent signboard, attracting passersby. In front of the store is an advertisement for an American-style lottery ticket with a huge prize of up to 150 billion VND, for only 10,000 VND.

When questioned by a reporter, the Nghe An area has not yet been installed with terminal equipment by the Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company Limited, but why the store hangs a sign selling lottery tickets, this person explained that these lottery tickets are issued in Ho Chi Minh City and transported by plane to Nghe An.

“Up to this point, Nghe An has not been approved by the Ministry of Finance for the Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company to issue computerized lottery tickets and the company has not yet installed terminal equipment. The authorities have only heard about it but have not yet conducted an inspection because this store has just appeared and has not been licensed by a State agency,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Duong - Deputy Head of the Corporate Finance Department (Department of Finance).

Consecutive arrests of fireworks traders

The upcoming Lunar New Year also means that illegal trade in firecrackers and explosives is on the rise. On the morning of November 28, the Police Department for Investigation of Crimes on Management and Positions (PC46) of Nghe An Province Police announced that it had just arrested two cases of transporting and trading in firecrackers.

Accordingly, at 8:00 a.m. on November 28, in Nghi Van commune, Nghi Loc district, the PC46 working group caught Dinh Tuan Anh (19 years old), residing in Nghi Van commune, Nghi Loc district, using a motorbike to transport firecrackers for sale. The evidence seized on the spot was 23 kg of 36-piece firecrackers.

In the initial investigation, Dinh Tuan Anh confessed to buying firecrackers in Ha Tinh, hiding them at home, and then reselling them for profit.

On November 27, while on patrol duty in Block 3, Long Son Ward, Thai Hoa Town, the Criminal Police - Economic - Drug Police Team of Thai Hoa Town Police discovered and caught Hoang Dinh Huong (born in 1963), residing in Block 3, Long Son Ward, in the act of illegally storing firecrackers. At Huong's residence, the police seized 10 boxes of firecrackers and 20 foreign-made monk-shaped firecrackers with a total weight of 22.5 kilograms.

On the afternoon of November 25, in Quynh Luu district, the PC46 working group caught Ngo Quang Luoc (23 years old, residing in Quynh Hung commune, Quynh Luu district) red-handed while using a motorbike to transport firecrackers for sale. The evidence seized from Luoc was 23 kg of 36-piece firecrackers.

All three cases are being continued to be handled and clarified by PC46 and the Criminal Police - Economic - Drug Team of Thai Hoa Town Police.
