Nghe An ranked 3rd nationwide in supporting Covid-19 prevention and control

On the afternoon of April 13, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held a launching ceremony in response to the call of the General Secretary and President on the occasion of Voluntary Blood Donation Day and conducted a preliminary review of the Front's work in the first quarter of 2020. Reporting on the results of the Front's work in the first quarter of 2020, the representative of the leadership of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front affirmed that despite facing many negative impacts of the epidemic, the Front's activities were still ensured to be effective according to plan.

In particular, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front promptly called on and mobilized all people to participate in supporting the prevention and fight against the Covid-19 epidemic and received positive responses from all classes of people.

As of April 12, 2020, at the Central level, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has received and registered to donate more than VND 831.6 billion from 129,223 organizations and individuals transferring donations to the account of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

The form of text messages has received special attention from the whole society. In just 20 days, the total number of text messages has reached over 2.2 million; the amount of money donated from mobile subscribers has reached over 133 billion VND.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of 63 provinces and cities have received and registered to donate 701.3 billion VND along with a large quantity of goods, equipment, and necessities.

In particular, the Fatherland Front of Nghe An province ranked 3rd nationwide when it received and registered to support up to 60 billion VND. At the provincial level, 363 agencies, organizations and individuals supported and registered to support with a total of nearly 25.1 billion VND; at the district level, 21/21 districts, cities and towns received support with a total of 34.8 billion VND).

Nghe An is only behind the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee (111.7 billion VND) and the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee (96.2 billion VND).

The implementation of tasks of caring for and ensuring social security under the direction of the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Prime Minister's Directives has also been carried out promptly and effectively. Specifically, the work of caring for policy families and the poor during the Lunar New Year 2020 was deployed synchronously when the Fatherland Front at all levels and member organizations mobilized support for more than 14 million poor people and people in difficult circumstances with a total value of more than 6,600 billion VND.

Programs and activities related to the work of grasping and reflecting the situation of all classes of people; mobilizing the building of great national unity and social supervision and criticism... have also gradually become practical.

Regarding the front work program for the second quarter of 2020, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has 6 key tasks. In particular, it focuses on propaganda and organizing meaningful activities associated with achieving achievements to welcome party congresses at all levels towards the 13th National Congress of the Party and the National Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. At the same time, it continues to raise awareness and responsibility of all classes of people in the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic as well as receiving and allocating support resources from the people in a timely manner and to the right subjects.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front organized a launching ceremony in response to the call of General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong on the occasion of Voluntary Blood Donation Day (April 7).
