On September 19, 2022, Vo Thai S. (born in 2006), the son of Ms. D., took the above motorbike and drove it with Nguyen Van Q. Previously, many images and clips of traffic violations provided by people and posted on social networks were also promptly handled by the authorities, such as the case of Vu Van Ba (born in 1985, residing in Dien Thanh commune, Dien Chau district), who drove a Hyundai i10 car with license plate 37A - 329.20, swerving, weaving, and confronting oncoming vehicles on National Highway 7A through Dien Phuc, Dien Thanh communes and Dien Chau town at 1:00 p.m. on August 24. These are just a few of the many cases that have been handled after the traffic police received information and images posted on mass media, social networks and provided by individuals and organizations. Mr. L.D, residing in Dien Chau district, who recorded images of traffic violations on the road and was handled by the authorities, said: "The fact that the authorities recorded and promptly handled traffic violations through images provided by the people shows the strictness of the law. This is a good way to strengthen people's supervision in the fight against violations of traffic safety and order."
Verify and handle strictly
According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Nam Hong - Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police, thanks to the participation of the entire political system, the awareness of law compliance of traffic participants has been raised. However, there are still many people who do not comply properly, not fully, or even violate traffic safety laws, especially when the authorities are absent, they speed, recklessly overtake..., endangering themselves and other traffic participants.

However, with the current widespread traffic network, it is difficult for the authorities, especially the traffic police, to control all violations. The system of off-line fine cameras cannot cover all routes. Therefore, the Ministry of Public Security's issuance of Circular 65/2020/TT-BCA stipulating the duties, powers, forms, contents and procedures for patrolling, controlling and handling administrative violations of road traffic by the traffic police, including the provision that, in addition to detecting and directly sanctioning violations of the Road Traffic Law by drivers participating in traffic, the traffic police also receive and verify information and images reflecting violations of road traffic order and safety provided by organizations and individuals or posted on mass media and social networks, will fundamentally overcome this mindset of some people.
In particular, this regulation will raise awareness of compliance with the Road Traffic Law among traffic participants, because traffic participants are not only monitored by the traffic police, but also by the community.
According to the Deputy Head of the Provincial Traffic Police Department, this is a form of cold handling that the force has been applying quite effectively in recent times. "We welcome the people who have been and are joining the force to contribute to preventing traffic violations, raising awareness of compliance with the Road Traffic Law for everyone" - Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Nam Hong said.
Accordingly, after receiving information and images of violations, the Traffic Police will verify and look up information to find the vehicle owner and invite them to work, determine the violation to handle according to the provisions of the law, ensuring timely and thorough deterrence to violators in particular, as well as educating and raising awareness of compliance with the Road Traffic Law for drivers participating in traffic in general.

Through the cases that have been handled, the common violations are mainly weaving, swerving, driving in the wrong part of the road, lane... It is worth mentioning that the images provided by the people, specifically from dash cams and home security cameras, have greatly helped the Traffic Police force in verifying and clarifying the vehicle and driver in cases of hit-and-run accidents.
Therefore, along with the authorities quickly verifying and promptly processing the images obtained after receiving them, there should be a form of encouragement and reward for those who provide valuable information... to increase people's supervision of traffic safety violations, contributing to building a traffic culture.
