Nghe An fines 3 fishing boats from other provinces for violating fishing zones
(Baonghean.vn) - Continuing to carry out the task of controlling fishing in coastal waters in 2020, from September 8 to 10, the interdisciplinary delegation of Nghe An province, including the Department of Fisheries, Border Guard and representatives of the People's Committee of Dien Chau district, Cua Lo town, inspected the sea route from Cua Lo town to Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa).

Compared with previous inspections, this time the interdisciplinary teamNghe Anoperating further from shore and into open waters, a number of large ships have been detected violating the law.Based on the discovery, the team pursued, captured and punished 3 ships.In which, 2 ships with license plates KG 1756-TS and KG 90739-TS of Kien Giang fishermen were fined 25 million VND/ship; 1 fishing ship with license plate TH-91998-TS of Thanh Hoa fishermen was fined 36 million VND.

Errorsviolateof fishing vessels leading topunishare fishing in the wrong sea route, not keeping a fishing log for vessels under 24m in length; notably, the Thanh Hoa fishermen's vessel, in addition to not keeping a fishing log, also wrote the fishing vessel registration number incorrectly, and had 3-5 crew members on board without crew insurance, so the penalty is higher.

Previously, based on the inspection of the Coastal Inter-sectoral Working Group to review and remove the yellow card, at the end of August, Nghe An Fisheries Sub-Department fined 2 fishing boats with license plate NA-95989-TS of Mr. Ho Ba Doan and boat with license plate NA-96668-TS of Mr. Truong Phi Ngo, both fishing far from shore in Hamlet 2, Quynh Nghia Commune (Quynh Luu), each boat 3.5 million VND for the error of "Not notifying the fishing port before entering the port".

With 3 fishing boats from other provinces being fined for fishing in the wrong waters and not keeping a fishing log, the Department of Fisheries and the provincial interdisciplinary forces are determined to bring fishing activities into the framework of the Fisheries Law and the Government's Decree. In the coming time, along with propaganda, the authorities will continue to inspect and impose fines to deter people from gradually complying with fishing regulations.
