Nghe An requires public cars to use automatic non-stop road toll collection
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has just sent an official dispatch to provincial departments, branches, and People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns regarding the implementation of automatic non-stop road toll collection services.

According to Official Dispatch No. 2844/UBND-CN dated May 2, 2019, the Provincial People's Committee requested provincial departments, branches, and sectors, People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns to implement the application of terminal cards and use the automatic non-stop road toll collection service for all vehicles under their management.
Units propagate and mobilize cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers and people to proactively stick tags and use automatic non-stop road toll collection services when passing through toll stations.
Previously, the Ministry of Transport issued Official Dispatch No. 3947/BGTVT - DTCT requesting ministries, branches and localities to direct the implementation of affixing terminal tags and using automatic non-stop road toll collection services for all vehicles subject to toll collection under the management of ministries, branches and localities; to propagate and mobilize cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers to proactively affix tags and use automatic non-stop road toll collection services when passing through toll stations.
According to press reports, on April 2, at a seminar on non-stop toll collection, Mr. Nguyen Viet Huy - Deputy Director of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Department, Ministry of Transport, said that the speed of implementing non-stop automatic toll collection is quite slow. Currently, there are only about 720,000 vehicles with stickers out of a total of 3.5 million cars nationwide.
The rate of vehicles using the card has not met the requirements because only about 30% of vehicles have had the card affixed to use this service, the remaining vehicles have had the card affixed but do not use it.
Regarding the installation of non-stop toll stations nationwide, phase 1 has completed 26 out of a total of 28 stations; 33 stations in phase 2 will be completed in 2019.
