(Baonghean) - Vu Thang Loi, Huong Tram, Hong Ngoc are children of Nghe An who are pursuing a musical career, with arduous and hard-working journeys to achieve the achievements they have today.

Vu Thang Loi: Bringing chamber music to young audiences

As a rare young chamber singer who gets to stand with top artists in a music genre that is selective of listeners, and sing with string orchestras in big shows, artist Vu Thang Loi comes to the singing profession with slow steps, not from famous competitions, not from promotional technology, but like the music genre he is pursuing, beauty will spread by itself.

When listening to Vu Thang Loi sing songs like "Praise Ho Chi Minh", "Huong ve Nam", "Love song", "Cung zither mua xuan", "Tieng dan bau"... some people boldly said that this is a chamber singer who can replace singer Trong Tan in the famous trio of the past.

And so, many political event programs have chosen Vu Thang Loi to be the "key singer". And people in the industry have called him a young star in this music genre. Therefore, when songs seem to have been nailed by big names, when listening to Vu Thang Loi sing, listeners feel like they are enjoying a new breeze, very generous, very passionate but also newer, more pure.

He shared: “In order to bring a song closer to the audience, in addition to having to invest carefully in sound and vocal technique, my team and I had to carefully research the context of the song’s creation and most importantly, research the idea of this song. Because above all, the music genre that I pursue is picky about both the listener and the singer, but when it reaches the audience, it stays in their hearts forever.”

Born in 1986, in a poor working-class family in Vinh city, no one was in the arts, but fate soon showed Loi's parents and family that only music and chamber music could give their son a future, could show him that he could do much more than what he had.

And so, when every major political event, if you turn on the TV and see Vu Thang Loi standing confidently in a string orchestra singing proud Vietnamese songs, you can understand that to achieve the results we have today, we must go through difficult and arduous stages of training, tears, deprivation, and even professional competition.

And this new year, Loi wants to bring the passion for chamber music closer to young people, especially young people from the same homeland. Because he believes that the beautiful melodies and lyrics rich in humanity in Vietnamese songs written for this genre will help people live beautifully, live responsibly and love their country and compatriots more.

Huong Tram: A year of many successes and challenges

2016 passed with many ups and downs for the girl of The Voice. With the Gold Award of The Remix (Reality TV show on sound and light held from the end of 2015 to mid-2016)… 3 hit songs that are firmly in the hearts of young people, and the effort in changing the image is being recognized by fans.

She believes that there is no success without hardship, without experiencing hardship and suffering. That is the extremely tight practice schedule, the new experiment with dance music that she was forced to choose and master when participating in the sound and light program The Remix.

And to get the Gold prize of The Remix, she not only lost her health, time, and a large investment of money, but also fierce competition on stage.

With the hit songs that Tram has been warmly received by young people, she believes that she has met a musician with the same taste, and is favored by God, but she also affirms that it is also due to hard work and effort in searching for a good arrangement, a genre of music and lyrics that suit her strengths, both catchy and easy to listen to but not boring; not immediately read as Huong Tram's voice but also immediately absorbed the emotions that she brings with the impressive arrangement.

Last year was also the year when netizens were abuzz about the transformation in Huong Tram's image, from youthful innocence to charming, sexy femininity.

That is also the way a young singer who was once a phenomenon in Vietnamese music said: “No one in life told me that what I did was right, nor did anyone think that I would equip myself with these skills to avoid gossip. I only know that I will live well, and how I will invest in my passion, so that in the end, music is still the product that the singer leaves for life.”

Meeting Huong Tram on the last afternoon of the year, she revealed: In 2017, Tram will return with the biggest dance project of her career... "I want you back" a composition by musician Nguyen Hoang Duy. And the duet project with young male singers including Bui Anh Tuan, hopefully will always receive support from the audience, especially the audience of her beloved hometown Nghe An.

Ruby: The Sparkling Rough Gem

Coming out of the famous “Sao Mai” contest, the simple girl from Vinh city won first prize in the light music category, and was expected to be a sparkling gem in the youth music scene. However, since her success in the contest, the girl Hong Ngoc, the biggest surprise from Sao Mai 2015, has remained quite quiet.

However, last year she also received quite a few shows. It is worth remembering that after the success of the MV "Dieu khong the dam" (in collaboration with 2 Sao Mai 2015 runners-up - Bich Ngoc and Hong Duyen, on October 20, 2015), and the MV "De gio cuon di" commemorating the 15th anniversary of the death of the late artist Trinh Cong Son, the audience remembered and highly appreciated... In addition, in the role of a soldier in the army, last year, Ngoc was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chief of the General Department of Politics (Ministry of National Defense) as one of the outstanding young faces of the entire army.

Recently, Hong Ngoc has boldly experimented and participated in the first season of Sing My Song as a songwriter. Although she did not make it to the next round, this is also her way of trying to renew her image. The singer who grew up in the military environment believes that the youth music scene is now more vibrant, the path she has chosen is also a path that is easy to recognize but also easy to be overshadowed. And her belief that "slow but steady" is not without reason.

The program “Sao Mai”, a starting point considered favorable, is the cradle of many Vietnamese stars, but this playground is no longer as attractive as before, which is a challenge for the organizers and the contestants coming out of the competition.

And Hong Ngoc, a singer who was trained in the military environment, will find her own path. In 2017, with projects already set and plans already mapped out, Ngoc informed: "Every detail is still an interesting mystery."

Finding and collaborating with a new team will hopefully help the Vinh girl make more breakthroughs in the new year.
