Murder suspect plans to flee abroad
After the murder, Ly Van Thanh, 45 years old, from Vinh Phuc went to Dien Bien, intending to go to Laos to hide.
Ly Van Thanh, in Song Lo district, was arrested by Vinh Phuc provincial police on March 5 for the crime ofKillingHe served a 12-year prison sentence for drug-related crimes and was released in 2018.

According to police, on the evening of March 3, Thanh had a conflict with a man near his house and stabbed the victim to death before fleeing. The next day, police initiated a criminal case and issued a wanted notice for Thanh.
Police from Vinh Phuc, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, and Dien Bien provinces organized a search for Thanh. After 36 hours of committing the crime, he was arrested in Muong Pon commune, Dien Bien city, nearly 500 km from the scene.
Authorities said Thanh was on his way to Laos when he was arrested.
