On the morning of October 26, Major General Ho Sy Tien - Director of the Criminal Police Department said that the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria - Vung Tau Police, arrested Chau Minh Nhan (20 years old, from Vinh Long) - the suspect in the murder of the wife and son of Mr. Bui Xuan Thuong (54 years old, Head of the Mass Mobilization Committee of Chau Duc district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau) - in Ho Chi Minh City.

"We arrested the suspect at 6:30 this morning. Initial investigations determined that there was only one suspect who committed the crime. The seized evidence included a motorbike, a phone, and some cash," said Mr. Tien, adding that Nhan was being transferred to Ba Ria - Vung Tau for investigation.

Nhan confessed that two years ago he was the manager of a construction team building two artificial turf mini soccer fields for Mr. Thuong, about 300 meters from the villa. Recently, the soccer field's drainage system was damaged, so Mr. Thuong called him to come and fix it. About two to three days before committing the crime, Mr. Thuong also called Nhan to have dinner together.

On the afternoon of October 24, Nhan sneaked into Mr. Thuong's house with the intention of stealing property, but was discovered by Mr. Thuong's son and wife, who then murdered him. He then took his motorbike, phone, and some property and escaped.

When Mr. Thuong returned home from work in Tan Thanh hamlet, Quang Thanh commune, Chau Duc district, he found his wife Pham Thuy Nga (48 years old) lying in the bedroom, gasping for breath, with bruises on her neck. Ms. Nga was taken to the emergency room but died.

People then discovered Mr. Thuong’s youngest son (a 12th grader) dead in the ground floor warehouse, covered with a blanket. The victim was shirtless, wearing shorts, with a bleeding wound on his head, and his hands were tied with electric wire.

Mr. Thuong has a wife and 3 children, the eldest daughter is married and lives separately, the middle daughter is studying in Ho Chi Minh City. This couple is considered to live well with neighbors and work hard. In addition to raising swallows on the top floor of the villa, he also runs a mini artificial turf soccer field, grows pepper...
