Suspect in drug ring of over 600 kg is unusually rich

On the afternoon of April 24, Colonel Dang Hoai Son (Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Police) said that the investigation agency is temporarily detaining Vo Van Giap (45 years old, residing in Huong Son district) and Vo Manh Linh (29 years old, residing in Nam Dan district, Nghe An) to investigate the crime.Illegal drug trafficking, according to Article 250 of the 2015 Penal Code.
Giap and Linh are the main suspects in the seizure of 580 kg of crystal meth and 40 heroin cakes in Vinh city (Nghe An) on April 15.

Ha Tinh police said that this transnational drug ring involved two foreigners. The hunt for these suspects is underway.
According to authorities, Giap was doing business normally in the locality, but recently showed signs of financial irregularities. Linh was a train driver at Vinh Locomotive Enterprise (Nghe An), had a wife and two children.
"Linh has never violated labor discipline and in 2018 was awarded the title of advanced worker," said Mr. Dang Hong Bac, Deputy Director of the enterprise.

At around 3:00 p.m. on April 15, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) coordinated with the police of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces to arrest Linh and four others. At the house on Phung Chi Kien Street (Vinh City, Nghe An), the police seized 580 kg of crystal meth and 40 heroin bars.
As of April 24, the total amount of drugs seized in the case was 640 kg of crystal meth and 100 heroin bars. After many days of questioning, the four people were temporarily released.
