The boat of Mr. Le Vinh Truong's family, Dong Minh village, Quynh Lap commune, has just returned to shore after a trip of nearly 3 hours. In recent days, shrimp have appeared densely, so the family has mobilized manpower to go to sea. The boat used to catch shrimp is a small-capacity type, anchored about 2-3 nautical miles from shore, then dropping a net to a depth of about 5m to catch the bottom. A lucky trip can bring in a ton of fresh shrimp, so the family has a considerable income.
Many fishermen said that shrimp fishing boats usually leave from around 3 to 4 am and will return to shore after 2-3 hours. During shrimp season, on average, a boat can make 3-4 trips per day. Each boat has about 4 fishermen, and when they reach shore, shrimp are transported from the boat by basket boat. This year's shrimp season is considered the best in recent years and is also priced well. Depending on each trip, the output can be from 1-2 tons/trip. Fresh shrimp is purchased by traders on shore at prices ranging from 8,000-10,000 VND/kg. Dried sea shrimp will cost from 35,000-40,000 VND/kg.

It is forecasted that in the next few days, the northeast monsoon will blow, the sea will be rough, and the shrimp will be gone, so fishermen in Hoang Mai town are taking advantage of the opportunity to catch them. Each shrimp season, fishermen can earn tens of millions of dong.
Shrimp is a small, light pink mollusk that lives quite close to shore. Shrimp is also known as moi, khuyet. It has a shape similar to shrimp but is smaller and thinner, only a little bigger than a toothpick. Shrimp is processed into many delicious dishes such as: stir-fried with lemon leaves, stir-fried with star fruit, cooked in soup or made into shrimp paste, so the demand for this type of seafood in coastal areas is very high.
