People use chemicals to catch worms in the fields
(Baonghean.vn) - In mid-February 2019, in Thanh Chuong district, a group of people appeared who specialized in catching worms by watering the fields so that the worms would float up and then collect them.

According to the subjects, the purpose of catching them was to feed chickens and to use as bait to catch eels. However, according to local people, the group also caught them to sell.
When asked what chemicals were used to catch them, the group gave unclear answers. It was only seen that after 2-3 minutes of watering, all kinds of worms, big and small, were forced out of the ground.

Currently, although the type of chemical and the level of toxicity have not been determined, realizing that this is an act that affects the ecological environment, the District People's Committee has directed the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to recommend that localities take measures to prevent it.
