Man hit by garbage truck, breaks spine while sitting in his house

At around 7:30 a.m. on May 6, a garbage truck with license plate 37C - 135.31 driven by Luong Quang Phung (42 years old, residing in Cua Lo town) was traveling on National Highway 1A from Dien Chau to Nghi Loc district.

When reaching the section passing through hamlet 14 (Dien An commune, Dien Chau district), the car suddenly lost control and collided with a motorbike carrying two people.

After the collision, the garbage truck continued to crash through the fence of a house along the National Highway and then crashed straight into the house of Mr. Cao Tien Dat (29 years old, Dien An commune).

The strong collision caused Mr. Dat, who was in the house, to break his leg and spine; two people on the motorbike (whose identities have not been determined) were also injured, one of whom was seriously injured.

The victims were quickly taken to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

At the scene, the garbage truck was completely inside Mr. Dat's house. The house pillar was broken, causing a corner of the house to collapse, and many items were severely damaged.

Dien Chau District Traffic Police quickly arrived at the scene, coordinated with Dien An Commune authorities to examine the scene, investigate the cause of the accident; and at the same time, estimate property damage caused by the accident./.
