What allowances do people participating in the fight against Covid-19 receive?
According to the Government's Resolution, the anti-epidemic allowance for people who monitor, investigate, and verify epidemics; people who directly examine, diagnose, and treat people with epidemics at medical examination and treatment facilities is 300,000 VND/day.
The Government has just issued Resolution No. 37/ND-CP on a number of special regimes in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic.

Accordingly, the anti-epidemic allowance is 300,000 VND/day, including holidays, for: People who monitor, investigate, and verify epidemics; people who directly examine, diagnose, and treat people with epidemics at medical examination and treatment facilities.

Anti-epidemic allowance of VND 150,000/day, including holidays, for: People performing tasks (not medical professionals) at centralized quarantine facilities (not applicable to quarantine at home, accommodation, hotels, resorts, businesses); people participating in forced medical quarantine in cases where quarantine measures must be applied but medical quarantine measures are not complied with; interpreters, 115 emergency team, and crew transporting quarantined people.
Regime for people on duty to fight the epidemic
Regarding the regime for those who participate in 24/24-hour epidemic prevention and control, the 24/24-hour epidemic prevention and control allowance is 130,000 VND/day, including holidays; employees who participate in 24/24-hour epidemic prevention and control are supported with a meal allowance of 80,000 VND/shift.
Medical staff, military and police officers performing duties at centralized medical quarantine facilities (not applicable to home quarantine, accommodation, hotels, resorts and businesses); those participating in the task of sorting and completing procedures for entrants; those protecting quarantine areas in residential areas as designated by state management agencies; medical staff on duty 24/7 at medical quarantine treatment facilities to care for and treat people infected or suspected of being infected with Covid-19 are supported with a meal allowance of VND 80,000/day.
Regarding the allowance for collaborators and volunteers participating in the fight against the epidemic during the Covid-19 epidemic, the level is 130,000 VND/day for collaborators and volunteers directly or jointly participating in anti-epidemic activities; the level is 80,000 VND/day for collaborators and volunteers directly propagating, mobilizing people, distributing leaflets or participating in drills.
Allowance for people in quarantine
Specifically, regarding the food expenses of people subject to medical isolation measures, the subjects of application are Vietnamese people and foreigners who are subject to medical isolation measures at medical examination and treatment facilities or at other facilities or locations (not applicable to isolation at home, accommodation, hotels, resorts, businesses).

Based on the actual situation and budget capacity of the locality, it is possible to continue implementing the issued support level or adjust it to the level of VND 80,000/day.
The agency or unit assigned to carry out medical isolation is responsible for providing meals to the person under medical isolation in a timely and convenient manner. In case the person under medical isolation requests meals according to their needs (if any), they must pay for the additional costs themselves. The request for separate meals for the person under medical isolation must be consistent with the conditions of the medical isolation facility.
People subject to the above medical isolation measures are provided free of charge with: drinking water, towels, masks, hand sanitizer, mouthwash, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, and other essential items, as well as other expenses for daily needs during the medical isolation days, with a total cost of 40,000 VND/day.
The Resolution also stipulates the payment of other medical examination and treatment costs for cases in which people who are in centralized medical isolation and have other diseases that require examination and treatment. Specifically: For people with health insurance cards, the Health Insurance Fund will pay for the part of the examination and treatment costs within the scope of health insurance benefits as in the case of going to the right medical examination and treatment facility. The state budget will pay for the co-payment costs of the patient and costs outside the scope of health insurance benefits.
For people without health insurance cards: Vietnamese people will have their health insurance paid for by the state budget; foreigners will have to pay for their own medical examination and treatment costs.
