In 2006, Mr. Hai got married, and his wife and he had a difficult life when they first moved out. At that time, the development of carpentry also encountered many difficulties: raw wood was expensive, while the demand from the people was low. However, he was determined to keep the profession. To maintain and continue to develop his family's carpentry workshop, he went to craft villages in neighboring districts to look for customers and find "sources" to import raw materials. After many trips to craft villages, he not only found cheaper raw materials from lowland districts such as Dien Chau, Do Luong... but also learned how to make new designs that suited customers' tastes. Thanks to that, his family's wooden household products such as tables, cabinets, beds... became increasingly "popular"; he invested in expanding the carpentry workshop, and directly supported vocational training and created regular jobs for 4 local workers, with a stable salary of 5 million VND/person/month; Every year, after deducting family expenses, he still earns over 100 million VND in profit.
In addition, based on the advantage of large garden land, he invested in developing a livestock farm. He attended training courses and visited economic development models in neighboring districts such as Quynh Luu, Dien Chau and Thai Hoa Town... From the accumulated experience, Mr. Hai boldly borrowed capital from the bank to build barns to invest in raising commercial chickens. Although at that time, no one in the commune had developed this model. Sharing the secret of livestock farming, Mr. Hai said that good breeds are the main factor determining success, so he learned through radio, newspapers and the internet about easy-to-raise chicken breeds that are suitable for the local climate. Then he switched to raising hybrid fighting chickens, which are resistant to changes in weather, develop evenly and have higher productivity than normal chickens. Currently, on a total farm area of 750m2, he invests in raising 1,000 commercial chickens, 500 egg-laying chickens, exporting more than 10 tons of chicken meat and 80 thousand eggs each year; average income is over 100 million VND/year.
Taking advantage of the large land, with many fruit trees around the house, so there were many bees, Mr. Hai started beekeeping. Initially, he only raised a few colonies to serve the family's needs. Over time, he gained experience and multiplied the colonies to raise honey for the market. Realizing that the demand for honey in the market was very high, he multiplied the colonies. Beekeeping does not require land, requires little initial capital and labor, and is quick to harvest. It only takes about 500,000 VND to invest in a beehive, and after 3-4 months, there will be products. At one point, Mr. Hai's family raised nearly 40 beehives. The income from his family's beehives reached nearly 15 million VND/year. Each year, after deducting expenses, Mr. Hai's family's comprehensive economic development model earns a profit of nearly 200 million VND; the family's life is increasingly prosperous. For him, the experience to handle many jobs well and be successful is thanks to the scientific arrangement of work and above all, always working hard to accumulate knowledge and livestock farming techniques to always achieve high productivity.
Not only is he dynamic and creative in economic development, Mr. Hai is also the Deputy Head of Hamlet 4, Nghia Thuan, and a Youth Union officer who is always active in local movements, living a good life and following his religion; he is a benevolent Catholic who knows how to share and help the people around him, and is loved by the people in the area. As an officer of a hamlet with the majority of Catholics, he is always concerned with initiating and organizing local movements and activities to contribute to strengthening the solidarity between Catholics and non-Catholics in the community.
