"When I witnessed school violence, I couldn't believe it because I didn't think students could treat each other like that. In fact, in many schools, school violence happens a lot. It doesn't show up in fighting or beating each other up, but it can be bullying each other online, having to bow when meeting the other person or forcing the victim to sometimes bring money...

But why don't the victims dare to "stand up" because they are afraid, afraid of being beaten. This painful problem is not only this year but has been going on for many years and there is no radical solution yet. The deepest cause is social networks and disputes on Facebook. Just because of very small messages can lead to people fighting in the street and recording videos and uploading them online.

"During the implementation of the project "Online bullying among students", we interviewed nearly 500 students from grades 6 to 12, at 4 secondary and high schools in Vinh city. The results were surprising when 299 students (accounting for 62.8%) were victims of online bullying. However, 285 students (accounting for 59.9%) were perpetrators of online bullying... Thus, the percentage of students who were both victims and perpetrators was higher than the percentage of students who were neither victims nor perpetrators.

Among the bullying behaviors, there are many actions that can easily lead to conflicts such as: sending threatening, hurtful comments via email or text messages; mocking comments in groups and forums; publicly posting embarrassing photos. Online bullying is also one of the causes of school conflicts and can lead to school violence."

"I receive a lot of information about school violence and am really worried. This is not a new problem, but recently many typical incidents have alarmed all schools in general.

Many people also think that the reason why school violence is increasing is because many schools are avoiding this issue. But I don't think so. In our school, the school is very concerned, first of all in terms of ideology, with measures to help students identify school violence in order to prevent it.

In addition, we guide students to healthy activities, equip them with emotional control skills, conflict management skills. We also set up counseling support rooms and if conflicts arise before anyone else discovers them, students can meet, discuss and seek help.

Currently, in the educational environment, we cannot foresee the problems that may arise. In such situations, teachers must have basic skills to minimize conflicts as much as possible. We must find a way to reconcile students, not to let conflicts escalate, and at least limit the spread of conflicts in the classroom to society. That will have very serious consequences."

"In my personal opinion, with the current problem of school violence, we have to consider some of its causes, especially with students in middle and high school age.

This is an age with many psychological and physiological changes as well as children having many desires to assert themselves. Therefore, for children in general, for students in particular, it is necessary to educate to equip them with knowledge and form basic life skills in communication and behavior and skills to cope with different situations in life, emotional control skills, problem solving skills...

How these skills are taught depends on the family, school, and society. If there is a lack of family attention, the formation of bad family images and examples, or the family has a violent background, it will negatively affect children, creating perceptions or leading to deviant attitudes and behaviors. In addition, the undesirable negative aspects of the market mechanism, including the influence of movies and games, have negative impacts and create deviant behaviors in children.

In school education, there must be a parallel between teaching letters and teaching people. Education itself will have a positive or negative impact on students.

In addition, it is necessary to equip children with basic skills, giving them a solid foundation to deal with various problems in life, as well as the current problem of violence. If students make mistakes, it is necessary to find a solution so that they have the opportunity to gradually improve themselves.

In the incident in Dien Chau district, both sides were wrong. It is unacceptable for my side to say something wrong and spread baseless rumors, but it is also unacceptable for the students to beat up their friends, especially female students.

According to the rules, students must take responsibility. But discipline must be done so that students are aware of their wrongdoings, know how to correct them, become good students, and cultivate themselves to mature.

After this incident, the Department will direct the Department of Education and Training of districts and high schools to review the work of educating students in ethics, lifestyle, and political ideology, focusing on forming life skills and skills to deal with situations in life.

The Department also has plans to organize training courses to improve professional skills for school psychology counselors. At the same time, it will closely coordinate with families and local authorities in promoting lifestyle development, especially educating behavioral skills in dealing with the Internet and social networks.
