It is known that previously, on July 16, 2024, Mr. Tran Van Chung (born in 1991), residing in Hung Phong village, Dien Hung commune, Dien Chau district, received a text message informing him that 75 million VND had been transferred to his Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank) account.

Knowing that someone had mistakenly transferred the money, after almost a day without receiving any calls to retrieve the money, Mr. Chung proactively wrote a petition to the commune police to report the incident. Immediately upon receiving the petition, the commune police coordinated with the relevant bank branch in the area to check the information of the account holder who had mistakenly transferred the money and tried to contact him.

Accordingly, the person who transferred the wrong money was Mr. Pham Duc Dien (born in 1982), residing in Hanoi. Mr. Dien is currently the director of a company in Hanoi.

Mr. Pham Duc Dien shared: The above amount of money was the amount I used to transfer money for goods, but due to incorrect operations, the above mistake was made. As soon as I realized that I had transferred the wrong amount, I was very worried and reported it to the relevant bank. However, right when I was doing the verification procedures, I saw Mr. Chung and the commune police force calling to verify the incident. I am very grateful for Mr. Chung's kindness as well as the enthusiasm of Dien Hung Commune Police who helped me get back the above amount of money.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Thinh - Chief of Dien Hung Commune Police, the commune police are currently proposing that the Commune People's Committee reward citizen Tran Van Chung for being an example of "good people, good deeds". Through this, each citizen needs to clearly understand how to handle the situation when money is transferred by mistake, then report to the local authorities for support and assistance.
