Truong Sinh Company employees at 5 medical facilities have been tested for SARS-CoV-2.

After detecting the first Covid-19 cases at Truong Sinh Company Limited - the unit providing meals at Bach Mai Hospital, the Ministry of Health requested the Departments of Health and Hospitals under the Ministry to review medical examination and treatment facilities in the area that have service contracts with Truong Sinh Company Limited. Request to temporarily suspend the contract with Truong Sinh Company Limited and carry out epidemic control measures at medical examination and treatment facilities.

As of April 1, 2020, Truong Sinh Company Limited has been identified to provide services to 5 medical units: Bach Mai Hospital (both facilities), Friendship Hospital, Central Endocrinology Hospital - facility 2, Thai Nguyen A Hospital.

At Bach Mai HospitalCurrently, 91 people working for Truong Sinh Company Limited and 653 other related people have been reviewed and monitored.

Currently, this group of employees is still being quarantined to prevent Covid-19 according to the decision of the Steering Committee for Disease Prevention and Control of Bach Dang Ward, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi City.

The hospital has temporarily closed and blocked off the entire hospital canteen area, and disinfected the entire dining area and hospital canteen to ensure the safety of patients and medical staff at the hospital.

At the Central Endocrinology Hospital, the test results of all 19 employees of Truong Sinh Company Limited providing meals to the hospital were negative for Covid-19.

Hospital leaders said that the staff providing meals for the Central Endocrinology Hospital are not related to the service staff at Bach Mai Hospital. The two groups of staff providing meals work separately at the two units.

However, to ensure safety, the Central Endocrinology Hospital is still strictly controlling epidemic prevention work, especially in the dining area with the staff providing meals, and is looking for a new food supplier in case all employees of Truong Sinh Company Limited are forced to quarantine to prevent COVID-19.

At Thai Nguyen A Hospital,Dr. Ha Hai Bang - Director of the hospital said that Truong Sinh Company Limited has a small supermarket in the hospital. This company does not provide meals or drinks for the hospital but only sells goods at the supermarket with a total of 4 employees.

Immediately after receiving the request from the Ministry of Health to screen people of Truong Sinh Company Limited, Thai Nguyen A Hospital conducted an epidemiological investigation with these 4 employees and completed the health declaration form. Accordingly, the 4 employees said that since March 8, 2020, no employee had contact or transacted with the "parent company" and had not received any shipments of goods.

The hospital also conducted PCR tests (confirmation tests) on these 4 employees, and the test results were negative for SARS-CoV-2.

Up to now, the Truong Sinh "epidemic" has detected 24 patients with Covid-19.
