Looking back at Nghe An's 10th grade admission benchmarks

For many years, Huynh Thuc Khang High School has always been the school with the highest admission score in the province, because this is where the best students in Vinh City gather. In addition, due to the school's limited quota, while the number of candidates registering for the exam is large, the competition rate is quite high, usually the initial admission rate is about 50%.

However, in reality, over the years, the admission rate and admission scores to Huynh Thuc Khang High School also depend on the number of students who are admitted but do not enroll (mainly enrolling in Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and Vinh University High School for the Gifted). Therefore, the annual admission scores are adjusted in batches.

Specifically, in the 2022-2023 school year, the school's first round admission score for the three subjects of Math, Literature and English is 23.5 points. This is the score after 204 students transferred to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and 130 students transferred to Vinh University High School for the Gifted.

After the announcement of the first round of admission, the second round of admission score to the school is 23.25 points. In addition, the school also announced that the direct admission score to the IELTS class is 5.5 or higher and the required admission score is 23.25 points or higher.

Ha Huy Tap High School and Le Viet Thuat High School are also two schools with benchmark scores in the top of Nghe An province. However, like Huynh Thuc Khang High School, the entrance scores of these schools depend on the number of students withdrawing their applications to specialized schools and are subject to change.

Specifically, at Ha Huy Tap High School, last year, the initial admission score was 20.50 points. After that, the school continued to lower the score twice.benchmarkwith the second round admission score being 20.20 points and the third round admission score being 20.05 points.

At Le Viet Thuat High School, the first round admission score in the 2022-2023 school year is 20.60 points, the second round admission score is 19.70 points.

While the benchmark scores at schools in Vinh city are quite high, the benchmark scores in some other localities in the province have quite a large difference. There are many reasons for this, but one of the reasons affecting the benchmark scores is that the competition rate at district schools is often lower than in urban areas, with many schools having a pass rate of 80-90%.

Specifically, Nguyen Duy Trinh High School (Nghi Loc) has a benchmark score of 15.65; Quynh Luu 1 High School (Quynh Luu) has a benchmark score of 14.30; Thai Lao High School (Hung Nguyen) has a benchmark score of 13.65; Kim Lien High School (Nam Dan) has 11.8 points and Nam Dan 2 High School has a benchmark score of 9.25.

Previously, from the 2021-2022 school year onwards, the entrance exam toGrade 10In Nghe An, the admission score is calculated including Literature + Math (coefficient 2) + 3rd subject score (Foreign Language with coefficient 1).
