Group of young men beat up someone because they were 'stared at'

On November 14, Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Nghia Thanh - Captain of the General Investigation Team of Nam Dan District Police said that the unit has just issued a decision to prosecute the case and temporarily detain 4 subjects Le Manh Phong, Nguyen Canh Tuan, Nguyen Hoai Nam and Nguyen Van Huy for the act of 'intentionally causing injury'.

Previously, at around 10:00 p.m. on October 6, four young men, including Nguyen Canh Tuan (1993, residing in Quang Trung block, Nam Dan town), Nguyen Van Huy (1994, residing in hamlet 4, Nam Nghia commune), Nguyen Hoai Nam (1996, residing in hamlet 7, Nam Loc commune) and Le Manh Phong (1993, residing in hamlet 32, Nam Hung commune), all residing in Nam Dan district, went to Linh Linh tea shop in Ve Nong hamlet, Van Dien commune, Nam Dan district to drink water.

While drinking water, the group of people above said that Mr. Ngan Van Sang (1998) and Lo Van Dan (1997), both living in Cha Nga village, My Ly commune, Ky Son district, were looking at them.

Immediately after that, Huy and Nam rushed in to punch and kick Mr. Dan repeatedly in the face. Seeing Mr. Dan being beaten, Mr. Sang immediately ran over to stop him but was unexpectedly attacked by Phong, Tuan, Huy and Nam.

During the fight, Tuan ran to the back of the cafe and grabbed a knife and slashed Mr. Sang in the back, injuring him. Too scared of being chased, Mr. Sang and Mr. Dan held their heads and ran into the cafe, but were chased by the four men, who threw cups, glass bottles, etc. at the heads and faces of the two victims.

After committing the crime, the four subjects threw the knives in the yard and fled in a car. Upon discovering the incident, local people took the two victims to the hospital for emergency treatment.

On November 7, Nguyen Canh Tuan surrendered to the police. Then on November 10, Le Manh Phong, Nguyen Hoai Nam and Nguyen Van Huy surrendered to the police and confessed their crimes.
