A group of young men formed a professional gang and stole dozens of motorbikes.

On September 5, Nghia Dan District Police said they had just successfully broken up an inter-district motorbike theft case, arresting many suspects.

Previously, in the first months of 2019, people in districts on National Highway 48 and Ho Chi Minh Road such as Nghia Dan, Quy Hop, Tan Ky, Do Luong, Thai Hoa Town, etc. continuously reported cases of motorbike theft while working at farms, rubber plantations, and sugarcane plantations.

Particularly in Nghia Dan district, Nghia Dan district police received reports from people in Nghia Loc, Nghia Thinh, and Nghia Khanh communes about motorbike theft while going to work.

Through reconnaissance work, Nghia Dan District Police determined that the above mentioned thefts by the subjects had similar methods and tricks of operation. On August 27, Nghia Dan District Police established Project 819X to fight.

On September 3, Nghia Dan District Police successfully discovered Project 819X, arresting 6 subjects including: Phan Van The (born 1984), residing in Nghia Dan town, Nghia Dan district; Phan Van Nhan (born 1989), residing in Nghi Hoa commune, Nghi Loc district; Le Van Dung (born 1989), residing in Nghia Thang commune, Nghia Dan district for theft of property; Nguyen Van Dong (born 1978), residing in Hien Son commune, Do Luong district and Ngo Dinh Tuat (born 1970), residing in Nghia Hoi commune, Nghia Dan district and Nguyen Hai Anh (born 1990), residing in Nghia Dan town, Nghia Dan for receiving property obtained by others through crime.

Through the investigation, it was initially determined that the subjects had committed 35 motorbike thefts, worth about 380 million VND. Nghia Dan District Police recovered 22 motorbikes, worth about 300 million VND, and returned them to the victims. The case is currently being further investigated.

Previously, on August 19, Nghia Dan District Police discovered Project 819M, arrested two brothers, Do Van Long (born 1987), Do Van Trong (born 1996), both residing in Cao Thang Ward, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh, seized 1.5 kg of crystal meth, 2 knives, 1 small scale, 120 million VND.

On the morning of September 5, leaders of Nghe An Provincial Police awarded Nghia Dan District Police for their achievements in successfully solving two major drug and criminal cases in the area, contributing to ensuring security and order, and receiving recognition and support from the Party Committee, government and people.
