Previously, at 4:30 a.m. on July 15, in the border belt area of ​​Muong Phu village, Thong Thu commune, Que Phong district, Thong Thu Border Guard Station coordinated with Que Phong district police and Thong Thu commune police to discover 4 subjects, including: Lo Van Thai, born in 1991, residing in Thong Thu commune, Que Phong district and Pham Hung Tien, born in 1984, Pham Van Dung, born in 1992; Ho Van Thai, born in 1993, all residing in Dien Lien commune, Dien Chau district, trying to illegally cross the border to Laos.

According to the initial investigation, the subjects stated that Lo Van Thai had agreed to take Tien, Dung and Thai along the trail, cutting through the forest to cross the border to Laos for a fee of 5 million VND. When the subjects were trying to cross the Vietnam - Laos border, they were discovered and arrested by the authorities.

Thong Thu Border Guard Station has coordinated with functional forces to expand the investigation, complete the file and hand it over to the Nghe An Provincial Police Investigation Security Agency to continue investigating according to its authority.
