When participating in traffic, drivers often make very common mistakes but may not know it, and sometimes only when they are handled by the traffic police do they realize they have violated the law. Usually, drivers violate the law because they do not understand the traffic laws or because they are subjective and do not pay attention when participating in traffic.

Honk after 10pm

According to the Road Traffic Law, some behaviors are strictly prohibited such as: honking, revving the engine continuously; honking from 10pm to 5am the next day, honking air horns; using audio devices that disrupt traffic safety and public order.

If people sitting in cars and similar vehicles honk their horns from 10pm the previous day to 5am the next morning, they will be fined 100,000-200,000 VND; people driving motorbikes and mopeds who violate this rule will be fined 50,000-150,000 VND.

Run the yellow light

According to Decree 46, running a yellow light is punished the same as running a red light.

As part of the group of violations of traffic signals stipulated in Decree 46, driving a car through a yellow light will be punished like running a red light with a maximum fine of 2 million VND. Motorcyclists, motorbikes, and electric motorbikes running a yellow light will be fined from 300,000 to 400,000 VND.

Go below minimum speed

According to Decree 46/2016, drivers who drive below the minimum speed limit on roads with minimum speed limits, typically on highways, will be fined from VND800,000 to VND1,200,000.

Turn on high beam when driving in the city

Many people turn on their headlights indiscriminately when participating in traffic. This affects and annoys oncoming traffic participants.

According to Decree 46/2016, if drivers of cars and similar vehicles use high beams in urban areas or densely populated areas, the fine is 600,000-800,000 VND; if drivers of motorbikes, mopeds (including electric motorbikes), motorbike-like vehicles and similar vehicles violate this error, the fine is from 60,000 VND to 100,000 VND.

Don't turn on the car lights

The Road Traffic Law also stipulates that drivers must turn on their headlights from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. If vehicles do not use or do not use enough headlights from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., when fog or bad weather limits visibility, they will be fined. The maximum fine for car drivers is 800,000 VND, and for motorbike drivers is 100,000 VND.

Do not put down the kickstand while driving.

The Road Traffic Law stipulates that road users must not put down the kickstand while driving. If a driver does not put down the kickstand while driving, he will be fined up to 3 million VND...

Riding a motorbike or scooter on the highway

According to Decree 46/2016, driving a motorbike or moped on the highway can result in a fine of up to VND1 million and a driver's license revocation of up to 3 months. Also in the group of highway violations, car drivers who stop, turn around, or drive in the wrong direction on the highway can also be fined VND6 million.

Wait for the red light in the right turn lane

Waiting for a red light in the right turn lane is a fine.

Many people want to go fast after the red light turns green, so they often choose any empty space to cut into. But many people stand in the wrong place, especially standing in the right-turn lane where right turns are allowed on red lights.

This is the violation of "not obeying traffic signs and road markings", with a fine of 100,000-200,000 VND for cars and 60,000-80,000 VND for motorbikes.

Stop at the crosswalk

Also for the reason of wanting to stop closer to other people, many motorbikes and cars often block the "Stop Line" and even encroach on the pedestrian crossing. This action not only causes traffic chaos but also affects pedestrians.

Fines are 300,000-400,000 VND for cars and 100,000-200,000 VND for motorbikes.

Drinking a bottle of beer is also fined

Many people believe that drinking just one bottle or one glass of beer or one glass of wine does not affect the ability to drive, and the law does not prohibit it because the alcohol concentration is not high enough. In fact, even one glass of beer or one glass of wine increases the alcohol concentration in the blood and breath. According to the law, if there is alcohol in the blood or breath, the driver will be fined.

According to Decree 46 on alcohol concentration violations, car drivers who violate the highest level can be fined up to 18 million VND and have their driving license revoked for up to 6 months (the old maximum fine was 15 million VND). For motorcyclists who violate this violation, the highest fine increases to 4 million VND, with a driving license revoked for 5 months (the old fine was 3 million VND, with a driving license revoked for 2 months).
