Germany, India and China produce a lot of billionaires, but also lose the most rich people in the world.

According to the latest research by Hurun Report magazine (China), more than 80 of the richest people in the world were born in one of these three countries, but now reside abroad.

Germany is the country with the most billionaires moving abroad with 31 people. Second is India with 30 representatives. Followed by China (24), UK (16), US (13) and Italy (11).

In total, 13% of the world’s billionaires no longer live in their country of birth, or 300 people. Half of the billionaires left Germany to settle in Switzerland. Nine Chinese billionaires moved to the US. Meanwhile, the super-rich Indians often live in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the UK.

The US is becoming the top settlement for billionaires around the world. Currently, 73 foreign billionaires are living here. The most prominent is Google co-founder - Sergey Brin. He was born in Russia, currently has a fortune of 36 billion USD and is the richest immigrant in the world.

This is the first year the Hurun Report has published a ranking of immigrant billionaires. “This study is designed to provide an in-depth look at the contribution of immigrants to global prosperity,” said Hurun Report Chairman Rupert Hoogewerf.

According to the study, 32% of immigrant billionaires left their home country before adulthood. 27% moved away after their careers took off.

However, many billionaires are still living happily in their hometowns. The richest man on the planet Bill Gates, billionaire investor Warren Buffett and Alibaba chairman Jack Ma still live and work in the city where they were born and raised.
