Foods that spoil when left in the refrigerator for a long time
Bananas, honey, coffee, potatoes, bread... left in the refrigerator for a long time will change smell or become soft and spoiled.
The refrigerator is a food storage facility for every family to preserve food. However, not all foods are suitable for the environment in the refrigerator. Doctor Nguyen Thuy Linh, Deputy Head of the Department of Nutrition, Hanoi Medical University, said that many foods left in the refrigerator for too long will be spoiled, damaged or form toxins.

Banana
Green bananas should be kept at room temperature. Ripe bananas can be kept in the refrigerator for longer shelf life. However, if left for a long time, the banana peel will turn dark and will easily spoil and rot.
Honey
To maintain the best nutritional value of honey, it should be kept in a normal environment and kept sealed in a glass jar at room temperature.
Coffee
Coffee should also not be kept in the refrigerator because the smell will spread to other foods and lose its characteristic flavor. Coffee should only be stored in a dry place, away from direct sunlight.
Potato
When the temperature is below 7 degrees Celsius, the starch in potatoes begins to break down into sugar. As a result, the taste of potatoes will no longer be as delicious and nutritious as before. In addition, when potatoes are taken out of the refrigerator, they become soft and wilted.
Bread
Bread will often absorb the cold air in the refrigerator, causing it to become soggy and change its flavor or become dry and hard. Therefore, bread should only be stored at room temperature, according to the expiration date on the package. You should eat freshly baked bread for the best taste and to ensure food safety.
