Bich's efforts

(Baonghean.vn) - As the eldest of two younger siblings, life is difficult but Pham Thi Bich (born 2000) in hamlet 14B, Nghi Kieu commune (Nghi Loc) has to spend a lot of time helping her mother with work, to earn money to support the family. However, she always strives to become a good child, a good student with 9 consecutive years of being an excellent student, in the 2014-2015 school year she won second prize in Geography at the provincial level.

Having a long history of good academic achievements from all levels, when entering class 10A4, Nghi Loc 5 High School, Bich was very confident when her homeroom teacher and classmates elected her as the vice-chairperson in charge of studying and secretary. In the final years of high school, there was more homework and more responsibilities, but to fulfill her responsibility as the eldest sister, Bich arranged her time to both help her parents with housework and complete her studies well.

Guide for children to study.

Her parents make rice noodles and vermicelli to sell at the market, so Bich wakes up at 4:30 in the morning to review her lessons. At 5:00, she helps her parents roll the noodles and put the rice noodles into boxes so that her mother can take them to the market to sell at 6:00 in the morning. While her father arranges the tools and machines to prepare for production in the afternoon, Bich wakes up her two younger siblings and feeds them breakfast to prepare them for school.

The distance from home to school is about 6 km, and as a class monitor, Bich has to leave earlier than her friends. On days when she doesn't have afternoon classes, Bich spends time helping her mother with housework such as washing clothes, soaking rice with her father, grinding flour to make noodles, cakes... In the evening, Bich guides her younger brother, who is in 8th grade, to finish his homework before spending time studying and doing his homework. There are days when he has a lot of homework and doesn't go to bed until 12 o'clock.

Bich's family is Catholic, belongs to Xuan Kieu Parish. On Sundays, she goes to church, and two evenings a week she goes to catechism classes... so her time is limited, so in class, Bich concentrates well so that when the teacher lectures, she can understand right away in class. Bich really likes studying Geography and especially loves exploring the majestic places and mountains of the country. Bich spends more time on Geography, but does not study too much, knows how to summarize the main knowledge and shortens sentences to make it easier to remember. Having identified her strengths and weaknesses, Bich has a suitable way of studying, so her academic performance is very good and she won second prize in the provincial excellent student competition. Not only Geography, but also Literature, History, Math, Physics, Chemistry... Bich studies well and gets a score of 7.9 or higher.

Bich's family used to be very poor, her parents worked hard with a few fields of contracted rice, but during the lean season they still lacked food. After she had a side job making vermicelli and rice cakes, the family's economy improved. But because of that, there was also more work, her father was busy with the fields, her mother had to work from morning to night with nameless jobs, Bich realized that she had to study hard and help her parents.

Outside of school hours, Bich is also the family's main worker in producing rice noodles and cakes.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien - homeroom teacher of class 10A, Nghi Loc 5 High School said: Bich is a very hard-working, obedient student, with the will to strive to achieve high academic achievements. Bich is quite good at literature, although she has not studied much time but has achieved quite high results. As a class officer, Bich is always exemplary, respectful to teachers and sociable with friends. Therefore, at school, Bich is loved by friends and teachers.

When asked about her dream, Bich smiled gently: I wish to have a stable job so that my parents will have less trouble. However, to achieve that dream, it will still take a long time for me to choose a career, but first of all, I have to study hard to get good academic results.
