Efforts to build strategic products of Nghe An province

On the afternoon of December 28, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to review science and technology work in 2021; deploy key tasks in 2022. Comrade Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Quoc Thanh - Director of the Department of Science and Technology co-chaired the conference.

CHANGES IN FIELDS

In particular, the industry has coordinated with the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to manage and implement 9 national-level projects; and implement 67 provincial-level topics and projects.

As a result, in 2021, it helped science and technology organizations, businesses, public service units and localities receive, master and develop nearly 140 technical processes. Supported the labeling of traceability to enhance the brand and value of goods for over 70 agricultural products. Organized a competition to evaluate and classify OCOP products for 184 products from 2 to 5 stars.

Creative activities and startups in science and technology are increasingly promoted. Organizing the contest "Searching for startup and innovation talents in Nghe An expanded in 2021 with 106 projects in many fields participating.

The province's innovative startups have been formed and developed quite firmly in both breadth and depth with the support and participation of all political and social organizations.

State management activities on standards for measuring the quality of goods and products in the province have been paid attention to and promoted. In the field of information technology, many topics and projects on applying IT have been implemented to support industries and businesses. Many units have used specialized software to build and integrate databases to improve the efficiency of state management activities.

During the year, the sector guided 72 units to complete industrial property registration dossiers, including: 68 trademark dossiers, 01 design dossier; 03 patent registration dossiers. Up to now, Nghe An has had 1,441 objects protected in intellectual property, including 1,355 trademarks, 65 designs, 13 utility solutions and 8 patents...

However, according to the assessment of the Department of Science and Technology in the management of science and technology activities, the link between research and training, between research and the market, between scientists and businesses is still weak.

The transformation of science and technology organizations into autonomous mechanisms has encountered many obstacles, leading to low policy effectiveness; the implementation of science and technology tasks is still slower than planned. Mobilization of social resources for research and application of science and technology is not high, there is a lack of specialized staff, etc.

CREATE SOME SPECIAL STRATEGIC PRODUCTS

Speaking at the conference, comrade Bui Dinh Long highly appreciated the results achieved by the Science and Technology sector, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the province.

Deploying tasks in the coming time, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long suggested that the Science and Technology Sector needs to focus on creating some specific strategic products of Nghe An province, concentrating resources to build brands.

Research to increase the content in processing and preservation to enhance the value and quality of the product.

The Department of Science and Technology needs to coordinate with localities, departments, branches, enterprises, institutes and schools to focus on 5 issues: choosing to advise on research topics with high practicality; focusing on new fields and new products; advising on issuing policies and mechanisms to develop the province's science and technology programs as quickly as possible; organizing the implementation and replication of research results; and strengthening product promotion and introduction" - Comrade Bui Dinh Long emphasized.

Departments and localities need to pay attention to scientific research to create a movement to create products; apply scientific content and production, select cadres in charge of science and technology fields with expertise and passion.

On this occasion, authorized by the President, Comrade Bui Dinh Long awarded the Third Class Independence Medal to 1 collective and 1 individual of the Department of Science and Technology for their outstanding achievements from 2016-2020, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.

The Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 individuals who were grassroots emulation fighters in the period 2018 - 2020; Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in 2021.
