Ms. Nguyen Thi De's family in village 1/5 of Cam Son commune has had a high income from winter crop production in recent years. Currently, she continues to grow more than 2 sao of vegetables and beans of all kinds to supply during Tet.

This year, her family planted scallions on an area of nearly 1 sao. Thanks to the suitability of the alluvial land area, scallions grow very well. The special thing about this scallion variety is that it only needs to be planted once, after 40-45 days the first harvest will be harvested, the remaining onion roots will continue to sprout, if well cared for, 2-3 more harvests can be harvested. On average, after deducting expenses, Ms. Thu can earn up to 7 million VND/sail for 1 crop.

According to Mr. Nguyen The Phuong - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Son commune, this winter crop, the commune has planned 5 hectares in the Lam riverside area to specialize in growing commercial vegetables, of which 1 hectare is used as a safe vegetable production point. When participating in production according to the pilot model, people are supported with 30 million VND for seeds and nitrogen fertilizer. According to estimates, the income from winter vegetables on the alluvial land is over 100 million VND/ha.

After implementing the safe vegetable pilot model, people have had access to the application of science and technology in care, pest control, ensuring the health of growers and consumers. Seeing the effectiveness of vegetable crops, this year people have expanded the planting area on alluvial land to 12 hectares.
