'Monster woman' swindles and appropriates 2.4 billion VND from her husband's family
Ly pretended to be a noble lady to defraud her husband's family of 2.4 billion VND.
On August 6, the Hoa Vang District Police (Da Nang City) confirmed that they had just issued an emergency detention order for Do Thi Yen Ly (35 years old, residing in Phan Dinh Phung Ward, My Hao Town, Hung Yen Province) to investigate the acts of "Fraudulent appropriation of property" and "Forgery of seals of agencies and organizations".
Accordingly, on August 3, the authorities received a complaint from the family of Ms. NTKY (residing in Hoa Vang district) that her daughter-in-law Do Yen Nhi (real name Do Thi Yen Ly) had her property defrauded.
Through investigation, Hoa Vang district police determined that in April 2022, Yen Ly entered Da Nang City.

Through a Grab car driven by Mr. VNK (29 years old, residing in Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city), Ly used the fake name Do Yen Nhi, and after many trips and conversations, won Mr. K's affection.
In July 2022, Mr. K. brought Ly home to meet his family. There, Ly lied that her family was in Gia Lai and owned the Viet Tien Passenger Transport Company.
In September 2022, Ly announced that she was pregnant with Mr. K. and planned to get married. Ly spent 100 million VND to hire someone to pretend to be the bride's parents and relatives to organize the wedding in Gia Lai.
Ly borrowed 1 more red book, 1 pink book and 9 fake gold bars to give to the renter at the wedding to give to Ly and her husband.
After the wedding, Ly moved to K's house. During this period, Ly repeatedly gave false information about borrowing money from her husband's family to appropriate it.
Ly “made up” a story that her parents had bought her and her husband two 34-seat passenger vans running the Gia Lai - Da Nang route. Along with that, they needed more money to buy a 16-seat shuttle van.

Next, Ly informed Mr. K's family that his parents had bought a house for 9 billion VND at 5 Dong Tri 5 Street, Da Nang City (in fact, Ly rented this house for 9 million VND/month) and wanted to buy an additional plot of land in the house next door but lacked the money.
Because she trusted her daughter-in-law, Ms. Y. lent Ly a total of 2.4 billion VND to buy a car and land many times. When she found out that her daughter-in-law had cheated her, she filed a police report. At the time of filing the report, the family still did not know Nhi's real name was Ly.
