According to the indictment: At 12:00 on June 26, 2017, Chau Van Ngoan rode his motorbike to the bus station in block 2 of Quy Hop town to buy a package of drugs from an unknown man for 200,000 VND.

Ngoan hid the drugs in the back cover of his cell phone, put them in his pocket, and then drove home. When he arrived at Block 12, he was caught red-handed by the Quy Hop police investigation force.

On the same afternoon, a search of Ngoan's house found a package of drugs weighing 3.495g hidden in a pillow in the bedroom of Mr. Chau Van Cuong (born in 1968), Ngoan's biological father. In the house, they found an electronic scale, 12 bars (2.4 kg) of industrial explosives, and 21 detonators.

During the search, Cuong voluntarily took out of his wallet a package of heroin weighing 0.195g.

Regarding the seized evidence of 0.195 grams of drugs in Cuong's wallet and 3.495 grams seized in the pillow, 12 sticks of industrial explosives, and 21 detonators seized during the search of Chau Van Ngoan's house, the investigation determined that they belonged to Chau Van Cuong and were not related to Ngoan.
