Owner of 'odorless' farm honored as Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer 2016

(Baonghean.vn) –Mr. Nguyen Huu Nhi (Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association) said: Nghe An has an individual honored as an Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer in 2016. The honoring ceremony will be held by the Vietnam Farmers' Association in mid-October.

The person honored is Mr. Dang Anh Tuan, born in 1957 - owner of the "odorless farm" in Do Luong. Mr. Tuan's farm is located on the Ma Ka hills, Xuan Son commune. Here, Mr. Tuan raises 150 breeding sows; 30 reserve sows; 6 boars; and regularly has 700 piglets and about 300 - 700 pigs for meat.

The special thing is that there are always more than 1000 pigs in the farm but the space here does not have the foul smell often found in livestock farms. To do so, Mr. Dang Anh Tuan combined many measures at the same time to handle the environment.

Mr. Dang Anh Tuan's name is number 57/63 farmers nationwide honored by the Vietnam Farmers' Association.

From food processing; timely separation of solid waste and liquid waste, solid waste is treated in sealed bags, liquid waste is treated through underground Biogas tank system; in addition, using biological bedding to raise medium-sized pigs, treated wastewater is used to clean barns or water green trees around the farm...

Always wanting to have a clean environment, around Mr. Dang Anh Tuan's farm are green areas with a variety of raw materials and fruit trees.

From farm activities, Mr. Dang Anh Tuan's annual revenue reaches 15 billion VND (profit of about 1 billion VND), creating regular jobs and stable income for 12 workers; besides, Mr. Tuan also has many contributions to the locality and to society.
