Accordingly, late at night on February 5, detectives from the Criminal Police Department (Ha Nam Police) raided the private home of Tran Quoc Lich (born in 1983, residing in Hamlet 13, Phu Phuc Commune, Ly Nhan District, Ha Nam Province) and caught a group of gamblers red-handed.
At the scene, the police arrested 18 gamblers (15 from Ha Nam, 3 from Nam Dinh province), seized nearly 100 million VND on the gambling mat, 13 motorbikes, 20 mobile phones, 4 walkie-talkies, 2 knives and swords and some other evidence related to the above acts.
Initially, the homeowner confessed that he had used his private house for gamblers from both inside and outside the province to gamble by "dice shaking" for money, each person who wanted to enter the gambling den had to pay 500,000 VND/session.
To avoid the police, Lich built a very solid entrance and placed many guards around the house (with walkie-talkies for communication). When there was a disturbance, they used the walkie-talkies to alert the gamblers to escape.
The case is currently being investigated and clarified by Ha Nam Provincial Police.
