Launching campaign to support the construction of Great Solidarity houses for poor households in Dien Bien province
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 13, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee organized a launching ceremony to support the construction of Great Solidarity houses for poor households in Dien Bien province in a direct and online form between the main bridge point of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the local bridge points in 63 provinces and cities.
The launching ceremony to support the construction of Great Solidarity Houses for poor households in Dien Bien province is also a special event to kick off activities towards the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory.

This is an activity of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in coordination with the program "Millions of loving hearts - Thousand happy homes" (part of the Project to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory) to build Great Solidarity houses for poor and near-poor households in Dien Bien - Northwest province.

In recent years, the Party, the State and localities have paid special attention and prioritized investment resources for socio-economic development in disadvantaged areas; directed synchronous solutions to eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, and improve the material and spiritual life of the people.
Along with the resources of the State, enterprises, organizations and individuals have promoted the spirit of mutual love and support, donated funds and efforts, helped the poor, the disadvantaged, and those affected by natural disasters and epidemics, etc. overcome difficulties and hardships, and improve their lives. However, there are still millions of poor households nationwide, of which Dien Bien province is one of the provinces with the highest poverty rate in the country.
According to the review data of the People's Committee of Dien Bien province, as of March 31, 2023, in the province, there are 7,447 policy households, poor households, near-poor households living in temporary houses, dilapidated houses, damaged houses in need of support for renovation and repair. Of which: The number of poor and near-poor households in need of support for renovation is 5,479 households; the number of poor and near-poor households in need of repair is 1,916 households;...
During the launching period from May 2023 to May 2024, the program is expected to support the construction of 7,000 to 8,000 Great Solidarity houses for poor and near-poor households in Dien Bien province and some Northwestern areas.
At the launching ceremony, agencies, units and individuals presented the first round of support with a total amount of over 250 billion VND. The organizing committee presented the first round of funding support with 200 billion VND (equivalent to 4,000 houses) to the leaders of Dien Bien province.

Along with other provinces and cities across the country, right after the Central's launching ceremony, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province also registered to mobilize non-local businesses to support 10 houses worth 500 million VND./.
