Detecting the third outbreak of African swine fever in Dien Chau area
(Baonghean.vn) - In hamlet 9, Dien Thai commune, Dien Chau district, another outbreak of African swine fever has just appeared. Dien Chau district is directing specialized agencies and localities to actively prevent and control the epidemic.
On the morning of May 7, the Veterinary Agency of Region III had test results of sick pig samples at the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Luong in Hamlet 9, Dien Thai Commune (Dien Chau) positive for African swine fever.

Accordingly, on the afternoon of May 5, the People's Committee of Dien Thai commune reported sick and dead pigs at Ms. Nguyen Thi Luong's household. The Dien Chau District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station conducted clinical examinations and took samples to test for African swine fever.
Mrs. Luong's family has 14 pigs, including 1 dead sow and 13 meat pigs, some of which have stopped eating, with an average weight of 20 - 25 kg/pig.

After discovering another outbreak of African swine fever in the district, the Dien Chau District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station immediately deployed epidemic prevention and control solutions in Dien Thai commune, provided instructions on how to set up quarantine checkpoints, and provided disinfectant chemicals...
This afternoon, the commune set up two quarantine checkpoints in hamlet 9, sprayed disinfectants on the roads and livestock farms in the hamlet. The commune also bought 500 kilograms of lime powder to serve the prevention and control of African swine fever. Currently, there are 700 pigs in the commune, of which hamlet 9 has only 17 pigs.
Thus, in the past 7 days, in Dien Chau district, 3 outbreaks of African swine fever occurred in the communes of Dien Van, Dien Kim and Dien Thai.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Bon - Head of the Dien Chau District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station added: Currently, there are sick pigs in Dien Dong and Dien Truong communes, the station is conducting inspections and taking samples for testing.
