Further promoting the role of Nghe An Farmers' Association in new rural construction

On the afternoon of March 17, the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Farmers' Association held a conference to review the coordination program between the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Farmers' Association in 2021.

EFFECTIVENESS OF COOPERATION

Implementing the coordination regulations, the Standing Committee of the Farmers' Association at all levels, together with the People's Committees at all levels in the province and related departments and branches, proactively implemented the signed contents. In particular, coordinating the implementation of socio-economic development programs and projects, realizing the goals of hunger eradication, poverty reduction, and legitimate enrichment.

Along with that, mobilize members and farmers to actively apply science and technology in production and business, change crop structure, plant varieties, livestock, cooperate and link, produce agricultural products and food.

The Association also focused on directing the improvement of the quality and effectiveness of the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty". As a result, in 2021, 146,708 farming households met the criteria of good production and business farmers at all levels; the Association at all levels mobilized to help 515 farmer member households escape poverty.

In addition to continuing to promote propaganda and mobilize farmers to contribute their efforts and money to participate in new rural construction, farmers' associations at all levels have proactively implemented practical activities to participate in rural construction such as: Building 399 new rural standard gardens and 701 farmer model gardens; launching the program "Planting 1 million trees" for the period 2021-2023.

Besides, to create more favorable conditions for farmers in production development, farmers' associations at all levels have promoted consulting activities and support services.

In addition, with the attention and facilitation of authorities at all levels, in 2021, associations at all levels in the province have undertaken thousands of projects and tasks of practical significance to serve production.

At the conference, leaders of departments and branches discussed and proposed many ideas to the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Farmers' Association to remove difficulties and obstacles, overcome shortcomings to continue to effectively implement the Coordination Regulations in the coming time.

PROMOTING THE ROLE OF FARMERS' ASSOCIATION

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu highly appreciated the results of the coordination between the Provincial People's Committee and departments, branches and Farmers' Associations at all levels.

To improve the effectiveness of coordination work, comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu suggested that in the coming time, it is necessary to continue to promote propaganda and dissemination of the Party and State's policies and guidelines on socio-economic development, agricultural and rural development, and new rural construction.

In addition, propagate and disseminate the implementation of Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU dated November 19, 2021 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on strengthening the leadership of the Party, in order to improve the quality and effectiveness of the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in the period of 2021-2025 and the following years; improve the quality and practicality of the movement of farmers competing in production and good business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty.

The Farmers' Association continues to implement specific and practical activities to further promote the Association's role in building new rural areas such as: Promoting the movement to build "Farmers' trees in gratitude to Uncle Ho", "New rural standard gardens", "Farmers' model gardens"; responding to the Program "Planting 1 million trees" in the period of 2021-2023; building and replicating models of farmers participating in environmental protection. Along with that, actively supporting the development of start-up and creative models associated with the OCOP program and developing cooperatives in agriculture and rural areas.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, and People's Committees at all levels to create conditions for the Farmers' Association to promote consulting activities and support services for farmers; train and foster scientific and technical knowledge, awareness of cooperation and association in production and business for members and farmers.

The Provincial Farmers' Association needs to focus on consolidating and improving the quality of the association organization and the farmers' movement; promoting the construction and development of farmer groups, associations, and branches by profession, creating a premise for the development of cooperative groups and cooperatives in agriculture and rural areas. It is necessary to be more proactive in presiding over and coordinating with departments and branches in implementing the contents of the Coordination Regulations.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee agreed with the proposal of the Provincial Farmers' Association on allocating funds for the Farmers' Association to implement the contents related to the responsibilities of the Farmers' Association as defined in the Target Program for New Rural Construction, period 2021 - 2025.

At the same time, the Provincial People's Committee agreed in principle to assign the Provincial Farmers' Association to coordinate with relevant sectors to develop and submit to the Provincial People's Committee for promulgation the Project "Propaganda, mobilization, and guidance for farmers to produce organic microbial fertilizers from agricultural by-products, period 2022 - 2025" and assign the Farmers' Association to organize the implementation.
