(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 14, on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27), on behalf of the provincial leaders, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu visited and presented gifts to policy families in the two border communes of Nhon Mai and Mai Son, Tuong Duong district.

Also attending were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee Office; Provincial Border Guard Command; and leaders of Tuong Duong district.

After two wars against France and the US, Nghe An had over 45,000 heroic martyrs and tens of thousands of wounded and sick soldiers, of which more than 27,000 martyrs have not yet been found.

With the morality of drinking water, remembering its source, over the past 76 years, the Party, State, authorities at all levels and generations of Vietnamese people have always remembered and expressed gratitude for the sacrifices and losses of heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers and relatives of policy families.

Visiting and presenting gifts to 36 policy families of Nhon Mai and Mai Son communes (Tuong Duong), Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu emphasized that today, we live in peaceful days thanks to the sacrifices of heroic martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers and the silent dedication of tens of thousands of families whose children have fallen, dedicated to national independence and the happiness of the people.

Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu shared that today, visiting the relatives of heroic martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers, he affirmed that the Party, State and People will never forget those who have sacrificed their blood and bones for today's peaceful life.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested local authorities, especially communes, to continue to pay attention to the material and spiritual life of families in difficult circumstances and families with preferential policies. Not only should they care about meals and clothes, but they should also care about creating livelihoods and jobs so that people can stabilize their lives in the long term.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu hopes that war invalids, sick soldiers, and families with meritorious services will continue to be role models for their children and grandchildren to follow, to rise up in life, and to contribute to their families, society, and increasingly prosperous homeland.

On this occasion, Nhon Mai Border Guard Station and sponsors also presented 36 gifts to 36 policy families of Nhon Mai and Mai Son communes.
