(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 22nd, the Nghe An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a training course on Nghe Tinh folk songs (Vi and Giam) in 2016 for folk song clubs belonging to businesses and tourism units in the province.

During the training course, the instructors successively imparted to the trainees knowledge about the genres, melodies, and performance styles of Nghe Tinh folk songs (ví and giặm).

Over the years, in response to the province's policy, businesses and accommodation establishments in Nghe An have established many folk singing clubs to promote this art form and attract tourists. Generally, these clubs run by businesses and accommodation establishments are quite effective and receive high praise from tourists.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, expressed his hope that businesses would develop and promote the Nghe Tinh folk song and Ví Giặm tourism product to serve domestic and international tourists.

The 2016 training course on Nghệ Tĩnh folk songs (ví and giặm) was organized by the Nghệ An Department of Culture, Sports & Tourism over two days (November 22-23).With the aim of improving the quality of activities of the folk singing clubs at accommodation establishments in Nghe An province, the organizers hope that the businesses and individuals participating in this training course will become key figures in developing this unique tourism product.

During the training course, instructors such as People's Artist Hong Luu and musician-researcher Phan Thanh successively imparted to the trainees knowledge about the forms, melodies, and performance styles of Nghe Tinh folk songs and chants.
