Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh inspects the progress of the North-South Expressway Project through Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 10, Comrade Le Van Thanh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister directly inspected the construction progress of the North-South Expressway Construction Investment Project, Eastern section, phase 2017-2020, through Nghe An province.
Also accompanying the delegation was Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho. Welcoming the delegation, on the side of Nghe An province were comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Department of Transport, and the Office of the Provincial People's Committee.
The delegation inspected the field at the National Highway 7B intersection, part of the Nghi Son - Dien Chau sub-project (Dien Chau district).

The sub-project has a total length of 50km, passing through Nghi Son town (Thanh Hoa) and Hoang Mai town, districts: Quynh Luu, Yen Thanh, Dien Chau. The sub-project is constructed by the Project Management Board (Ministry of Transport) with a consortium of contractors: Cineco4 Group Joint Stock Company, Tan Nam Construction Joint Stock Company, Truong Son Construction Investment Joint Stock Company.
The project includes 3 intersections, 1 tunnel, 22 bridges, 66 underpasses and 218 culverts of various types. The sub-project has a total construction cost of more than 4,728 billion VND, the project implementation period is 24 months, and is expected to be completed by July 2023.
Up to this point, the Nghi Son - Dien Chau sub-project has cleared 42.92/43.47km, reaching 98.7%; the compensation plan has been approved for more than 1,218 billion VND. According to the contractor, up to this point, the construction volume of the Nghi Son - Dien Chau sub-project has reached about 6-7%.

In general, the North-South Expressway Project through Nghe An province has a length of about 87.84km, including 2 sub-projects: Nghi Son - Dien Chau and Dien Chau - Bai Vot. The project passes through Hoang Mai town and 5 districts: Quynh Luu, Yen Thanh, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen.
Up to this point, the site clearance work has been about 87.12/87.84km, reaching 99.2%. Currently, there is 0.72km left.Land clearance not yet completed (Hoang Mai Town 0.08km, Dien Chau 0.4km, Yen Thanh 0.07km, Hung Nguyen 0.17km).
Local authorities have basically approved the compensation plan for site clearance at these locations. Currently, localities are continuing to propagate and mobilize people to agree on the plan, receive money, receive resettlement land to build houses and hand over the site; it is expected that the site will be handed over before December 15, 2021.

After listening to the report on the project progress from the leaders of the Ministry of Transport and the contractor, the Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the efforts of Nghe An province in compensation for site clearance, removing obstacles in material sources, and the efforts of the contractor to ensure the project progress as planned.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the People's Committee of Nghe An province to complete the site clearance work to hand over the site to the contractor. The construction unit should take advantage of favorable weather to speed up the construction progress, while ensuring the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic.
Tomorrow morning (December 11), Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh will chair an online conference on the implementation of the North-South Expressway Construction Investment Project in the Eastern region for the 2017-2020 period at the headquarters of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee.
