Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh: 'Civil servants must have the spirit of serving the people and businesses'

(Baonghean.vn) - This is one of the contents that comrade Truong Hoa Binh - Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister emphasized at the working session with leaders of Nghe An province on the afternoon of June 11.

Attending the working session on the Central side were comrade Hau A Lenh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Northwest Steering Committee; representatives of the Government Office and the Ministries of Transport, Finance, Home Affairs, etc.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of departments and branches of the province.

Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh chaired a working session with leaders of Nghe An province.

In the first 6 months of 2016, the growth rate in the province (GRDP) is expected to reach 6.6%, higher than the same period in recent years. By the end of 2015, the whole province had 117 communes meeting the new rural criteria, Thai Hoa Town was recognized by the Prime Minister as a district-level unit meeting the new rural standards.

Foreign affairs and investment promotion activities have been vibrant and highly effective. By the end of May 2015, the province had granted new and adjusted investment certificates for 34 projects with a total registered investment capital of over VND 19,000 billion. Budget revenue for the first 6 months is estimated at nearly VND 4.9 trillion. The province has also successfully organized the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee reported on the province's situation in the first 6 months of 2016 and some recommendations to the Government.

Cultural and social fields such as education, healthcare, vocational training, job creation; poverty reduction, and social security continued to receive attention and achieved many high results. On behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee proposed to the Deputy Prime Minister and the working delegation a number of issues on mechanisms and policies; security and order, crime prevention; prevention of smuggling and trade fraud; ensuring traffic safety; organizational structure and staffing.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Truong Hoa Binh - Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that Nghe An is a locality with an important position in the country; at the same time, he assessed that the province still has a large room for development.

Acknowledging the results achieved by the province, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh emphasized that in the coming time, the province needs to strengthen direction and inspection of the implementation of 2016 tasks in all areas in conjunction with the implementation of resolutions of Party congresses at all levels and Resolution 26 of the Politburo on the direction and tasks for development of Nghe An province until 2020.

At the same time, Nghe An needs to do well in restructuring the economy towards developing industry and agriculture using high technology and advanced techniques to create high added value. However, comrade Truong Hoa Binh noted that in the process of developing both industry and agriculture, sustainability must be ensured, that is, ensuring social security and the environment.

Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh concluded the working session, emphasizing that Nghe An needs to develop industry and agriculture in a sustainable direction.

The Deputy Prime Minister also requested that the province continue to promote the movement of building new rural areas in association with changing occupations and suitable jobs for the people; care for and ensure social security; build and replicate economic models associated with hunger eradication and poverty reduction. Care for the cultural, material and spiritual life of the people. Well implement the policy of great solidarity among ethnic groups, build a good position of people's hearts; strengthen national defense, security, social order and safety; focus on handling urgent and outstanding issues.

In particular, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that the province continues to promote administrative reform and improve public service ethics. Administrative procedures must be clear, public, transparent, and without barriers. Civil servants must have the spirit of serving the people, businesses, and tourists; building an honest, transparent, public, and effective public administration.

Regarding the province's recommendations, the Deputy Prime Minister requested ministries and branches to consider and resolve.
