Deputy Prime Minister: Vietnam - China need to control disagreements in the East Sea well
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that both sides need to take practical actions to control disagreements well and not take actions that complicate or expand disputes in the East Sea.
On the occasion of leading the Vietnamese delegation to attend the 4th China-South Asia Expo and the 24th Kunming Import and Export Fair in Kunming City, Yunnan Province, China, on the afternoon of June 12, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung met with Politburo member and Deputy Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Wang Yang.
Attending with Deputy Prime Minister Wang Yang were Yunnan Provincial Party Secretary Li Jiheng and leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Commerce.

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung suggested that the two sides continue to maintain high-level contacts and expand people-to-people exchanges, especially between the two countries' young generations. The two sides need to promote the role and effectiveness of cooperation mechanisms, including the Working Group on Infrastructure, Finance and Monetary Cooperation; encourage capable Chinese enterprises to increase investment in large projects and modern technology, including infrastructure connectivity projects; and effectively implement China's aid and preferential loans for Vietnam.
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that China facilitate the transportation and import of goods from Vietnam, especially agricultural, forestry and aquatic products, including rice, to meet the development needs of each country and promote bilateral trade in a more balanced direction. The two sides need to strengthen coordination in border management and promote cooperation between localities.

Regarding maritime issues, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung expressed concern over recent developments in the region and in the East Sea, affirming that peace and stability are essential for cooperation and development in the region.
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that both sides should take practical actions to control disagreements well, not take actions that complicate or expand disputes in the East Sea; strictly adhere to the common perception of the two countries' senior leaders, especially the "Agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of maritime issues" and the "Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea" (DOC), and together maintain peace and stability at sea.
Deputy Prime Minister Wang Yang agreed with and shared the statements of Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung, suggesting that the two sides should strengthen strategic exchanges and political trust, promote strategic connectivity and cooperation in production capacity between the two countries, promptly identify and implement a number of key projects, and seriously implement the common perception of the two countries' senior leaders on maritime issues./.
