Respectfully offering incense and a basket of fresh flowers to the soul of President Ho Chi Minh on the first day of the new year - 2020, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue and members of the delegation expressed their deep respect and infinite gratitude for the immense contributions of Uncle Ho - the great leader of the Party, national liberation hero, beloved father of the Vietnamese people.

In a solemn and sacred atmosphere, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue reported to Uncle Ho's spirit a number of outstanding results in the country's socio-economic development in the past year. 2019 marked exactly 50 years since Uncle Ho passed away and also 50 years since the whole country implemented his sacred Testament.

Implementing Uncle Ho's testament, the entire Party, people and army have continuously strived to compete and achieved many proud achievements in all fields. The country's economic growth rate in 2019 reached 7.2%, which is considered to have the fastest growth rate in the region as well as in the world; total revenue balance reached 1,469 trillion VND, total expenditure balance reached 1,316 trillion VND...

2020 will be the year of many important milestones and events for the country. These include celebrating the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 90th anniversary of the Nghe Tinh Soviet; and the 130th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday. In particular, in foreign relations and international cooperation, in 2020, Vietnam will become the rotating Chair of ASEAN and a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council... This shows that the country's position and power are constantly being enhanced, and Vietnam is increasingly asserting its important role in the international arena.
