According to CNN, speaking after the election, Vice President Kamala Harris called on her supporters to accept the results of the 2024 presidential election, and pledged to peacefully transfer power after the victory of candidate Donald Trump.

Vice President Kamala Harris said she was "full of determination" even after losing to former President Donald Trump.

"Today, my heart is full of gratitude for the trust you have placed in me, full of love for our country, and full of determination," Harris said on November 6 (Washington time) at her alma mater, Howard University, in Washington, DC.

"The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, not what we fought for, not what we voted for. But ... the light of America's promise will always shine as long as we never give up," Harris said, pledging that she would "never give up the fight for a future ... where American women have the freedom to make their own decisions about their own bodies."

In her speech on November 6, Vice President Harris affirmed: “While I concede defeat in this election, I do not concede defeat in the fight that drove this campaign. The fight for freedom, opportunity, fairness, and dignity for all people.”

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden acknowledged the “range of emotions” he faced after the election, and told White House staff they should be proud of what they had achieved together.

President Biden also praised Vice President Kamala Harris as a person of "extraordinary character, integrity, courage," adding: "She is the best vice president I could have asked for."

This is the first time President Joe Biden has addressed a large gathering of White House staff since former President Donald Trump defeated Vice President Harris in the November 5 election.

"While I'm sure you're all feeling a lot of different emotions today, I hope there's one emotion you won't forget. It's pride, pride in everything we've accomplished," President Biden said.

President Biden has rolled out a number of initiatives that he believes will have a lasting impact on the country, including pandemic recovery, reducing health care costs, investing in climate change, bipartisan infrastructure legislation and restoring American leadership on the world stage.

Mr. Biden expressed his hope that, during the remaining time, his colleagues will look back on the journey they have traveled “with pride in all that you have done to make a huge difference for America, the American people and the world.”
