(Baonghean) - Faced with the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province has stepped up propaganda on epidemic prevention and control measures; mobilized and received support from organizations, individuals, and philanthropists to join hands in preventing and fighting the epidemic.

Do a good job of propaganda at the grassroots level

In recent days, the Fatherland Front of Nam Anh and Nam Dan communes has actively promoted and mobilized people to implement measures to prevent and control epidemics, promoting the role and responsibility of each person in protecting and improving their own health and that of the community.

In particular, the Fatherland Front of Nam Anh commune promotes the role of self-management groups in mobilizing people to actively participate in disease prevention and control through the activities of self-management groups in residential areas; participate in cleaning village roads, alleys, and houses to maintain environmental hygiene and prevent disease; regularly inform people about the disease situation.

128 self-governing groups in 8 hamlets have established monitoring groups to both propagate and mobilize epidemic prevention and control work, and to monitor the people in their groups who return from abroad via the airport and do not have to be quarantined, but must voluntarily quarantine at home, and at the same time report to local authorities to monitor the health status of each specific case.

“Along with doing a good job of propaganda and supervision among the people, with the participation of the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front and organizations in the commune, we have mobilized people to voluntarily donate tons of goods and food to provide for the concentrated quarantine area at the Military School in Nam Anh commune.”

For the Fatherland Front of Anh Son district, it has directed the Fatherland Front of 21 communes and towns to actively disseminate information to the people about measures to prevent and control Covid-19 as well as implement the Prime Minister's Directives and the province's directions.

Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front of Anh Son district, Tran Thi Au, said that organizations and localities have diversified their propaganda "channels", especially through loudspeaker systems in villages, hamlets, communes, and on social networking sites. Communes and towns have established rapid response teams to promptly handle situations that arise. In particular, the Fatherland Front of the district has received more than 443 million VND in cash and goods from organizations and individuals to support epidemic prevention.

To effectively implement the epidemic prevention work, the Nghi Loc District Fatherland Front has organized grassroots Front officials to provide the latest information on the Covid-19 situation and deploy local epidemic prevention and control work. The Village and Hamlet Front Working Committee has coordinated with Party committees and authorities to deploy Covid-19 prevention and control measures to the people in residential areas in the area.

“The Front and organizations of Nghi Loc district also mobilized people to postpone, adjust the time or have appropriate forms in organizing weddings and large parties. At the same time, coordinate to review and grasp the laborers who are working abroad returning to their hometowns in epidemic areas, foreigners coming to the locality for tourism and work.”

Fundraising and support

In order to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic in the context of the country's difficulties, the Fatherland Front at all levels and member organizations in the province have promoted the practice of thrift and anti-waste; implemented the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods". Mobilized people in the province to consume Vietnamese goods to turn difficulties into advantages to develop domestic production in the province.

In addition, member organizations of the Front mobilized cadres, members, and union members to actively volunteer to participate in epidemic prevention and control activities in the community as well as in concentrated quarantine areas. Along with that, the Fatherland Front at each level sent leadership representatives to participate in the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control steering committee at the same level; assigned tasks to the steering committee according to functions and tasks and coordinated well in the implementation of Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control work in the area.

In particular, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has issued a call for "All people to participate in supporting the prevention and control of Covid-19" and instructed the Fatherland Front Committees of districts, cities and towns in the province to establish a Steering Committee to receive support for the prevention and control of Covid-19. Responding to the call of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the Fatherland Front Committees of districts, cities and towns during the days when the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in the province continuously received contributions and support from organizations, individuals, units, businesses and philanthropists to join hands and contribute money and effort to the whole country to repel the epidemic.

“Along with receiving support, currently, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels are also promoting propaganda work, raising awareness and sense of responsibility of all classes of people in preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic as well as proactively declaring health and applying measures according to the recommendations and instructions of competent agencies, especially strictly implementing Directive 16/CT-TTg on implementing urgent measures to prevent and fight the Covid-19 epidemic as well as the province's directives”.

Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Vo Thi Minh Sinh shared: The spirit of compatriots, military-civilian relations, patriotism, humanity and community responsibility are widely spread from children to the elderly who have spent their savings to donate money; women who volunteer or cook porridge to serve officers and soldiers at quarantine points; there are elderly people who pick vegetables from their home gardens to bring to the centralized quarantine points to support.

During the difficult time of production and business, the business community has "shared the fire" with the province in the fight against the epidemic. The Provincial Fatherland Front Committee pledged to use the support resources from agencies, organizations and individuals for the right purpose, the right address and with high efficiency.

As of 5:00 p.m. on April 1, after 8 days of launching, the whole province has collected more than 28.6 billion VND from agencies, units, organizations and individuals to support the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic. At the provincial level, through the account of the Provincial Relief Committee and direct support at the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, 225 agencies, units, enterprises and individuals in the area have donated money and goods with a total value of more than 19 billion VND; of which cash is more than 14.5 billion VND and converted goods are more than 4.5 billion VND.
