Parents in Vinh City are upset about picking up their children in the hot weather.
(Baonghean.vn) - Today, Friday (April 19), many primary schools in Vinh city are following the new timetable. This is also one of the hottest days since the beginning of summer, so picking up and dropping off children becomes difficult and tiring.
Reporter of Nghe An Newspaper noted parents' opinions on this change:

All of us sitting here waiting to pick up our children are really frustrated by the change in school schedules. Like me, I have two children, the first is in 4th grade, the second is in 1st grade. But the first grader has to be picked up at 3:20 pm. After an hour, I have to go back to school to pick up the other child. It takes the whole afternoon to pick up my children.
I am 74 years old this year, having to "run around" like that is very hard. But if I don't do it, who will because my mother is a teacher, my father works in Hung Nguyen.

I don’t understand why the school has such an unreasonable schedule, it’s hard for both the child and the grandmother. Not only me, but many other parents are also in a situation of both laughter and tears because they have to assign someone to pick up their children.
Luckily, grandparents can arrange time to pick up their grandchildren. If their parents work all day, how can they manage? Then the children come home in the hot sun, affecting their health.

This change will only make people miserable. Who would pick up their kids at 3:30 because civil servants work all day? If education changes like this, how can we adapt? After I pick up this kid, I have to pick up another one soon.

I work all the way out in Nghi Kim commune, running here to pick up my child at 3:30 pm is very hard. But if I don't pick him up, leaving him hanging around at school is also a pity. Today, I asked for leave to pick him up but the company can only handle it for one day. I don't know what will happen in the next few days because my husband works far away, and my grandparents are not in Vinh either.
When I picked my child up, I left him with the neighbor. Why doesn't the school arrange a reasonable time that is suitable for parents, teachers and the school? Or announce it from the beginning of the year so that parents can agree on extra hours for their children to study, but there's only one month left of summer vacation and they're changing it.

Normally, Le Loi Primary School still finishes at 11am and my husband or I take turns picking up our child. However, this week, the school lets our child go home early on Wednesday (9am), so we have to ask the grandparents. Without the grandparents’ help picking up their child, many families will have a very difficult time.
I think letting the children go home early is inappropriate. Should the school redistribute the timetable, because according to the current timetable, some days there are too many periods, some days there are too few periods.
We believe that primary school children need to prioritize physical activity and play a lot. Therefore, instead of letting children go home early, the school should reserve the remaining two periods of Wednesday morning for children to participate in class activities and organize activities to help the members of the class bond with each other.
Moreover, if the children have a class from 7:15 to 9:00 in the morning, it is meaningless. It is better to let them have the whole day off!

This is the first day that Ha Huy Tap 1 Primary School has implemented the new timetable for grades 1 and 2. Accordingly, while previously all students would leave school at 4:30, now students in grades 1 and 2 will leave school 1 hour earlier than students in grades 3, 4, and 5. |

Only families with grandparents available will be able to pick up their children on time for the new school day. |

The rest of the children are still sitting at school. Today, the principal of Ha Huy Tap 1 Primary School is also very worried, because the situation of children staying at school after school hours is too crowded. |

Even though they were allowed to leave early, teachers of grades 1 and 2 still had to stay at school to supervise the students. At this time, it was nearly 20 minutes past the scheduled pick-up time, but many students had not yet had their parents come to pick them up. |

The notice board was hung by the school since the beginning of the week but has not received the approval of parents and the schools themselves are at a standstill. |
