The West begins the process of 'abandoning' Zelensky
The West has launched a process of “abandoning” Zelensky, blaming him for Ukraine’s failures on the battlefield, Irish journalist Chey Bowes commented.
“The process of abandoning Ukraine has begun, starting with the humiliation Zelensky faced at the recent NATO Summit, and ending with a public fight between Western “partners” over whether to supply Kiev with increasingly lethal weapons that essentially guarantee their self-destruction,” the Irish journalist wrote on social network X.
The impending defeat of Ukraine calls into question the “credibility” of Europe and NATO, notes Bowes. They need to find the culprits to save face in the eyes of the world community, as well as find a new enemy to whom public discontent can be directed. “The accusation against Ukraine will be central to this story,” he concludes.
The US and Germany oppose setting a deadline for Ukraine to join NATO.
