Quynh Luu controls epidemic prevention and control at fishing ports
(Baonghean.vn) - After storm No. 5 weakened into a low pressure area, fishermen in Quynh Luu district (Nghe An) prepared necessities to go out to sea to fish. To prevent the spread of the epidemic, authorities increased inspection and control at fishing ports to avoid large gatherings of fishermen.

After storm No. 5 (storm Conson) weakened into a tropical depression, on the morning of September 12, fishermen from coastal communes in Quynh Luu were present at the fishing port to prepare for their offshore trip.
Mr. Nguyen Van Uoc - Chairman of Tien Thuy Commune People's Committee said: "Implementing the directive of the District Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control on strengthening inspection and control at fishing ports and crowded places, Tien Thuy Commune coordinated with the Management BoardLach Quen fishing port, Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station assigned forces to be on duty at the checkpoint to control and inspect the ships returning to the port to sell seafood. Currently, the forces are continuing to strengthen inspections and reminders when fishermen return to their fishing boats, prepare necessities to go out to sea to catch seafood, because this is the time when crowds often gather.

SinceQuynh Luu districtThe status was changed from Directive 16 to Directive 15, but the epidemic control checkpoints at fishing ports were still maintained. The checkpoints were responsible for controlling people and vehicles entering and leaving the fishing ports.
Mr. Tran Van Trung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Thuan commune said: "To ensure safe distancing in epidemic prevention and control, the commune coordinates with the Border Guard Station on duty at the checkpoint to check people and vehicles entering the port, they need to have a negative rapid test certificate andQR code; In case of insufficient documents, the commune will request to return.

Mr. Hoang Danh Lai - Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Council, Head of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in Quynh Luu District said: "Determining that the fishing port is a place that needs to strictly ensure epidemic prevention and control regulations due to the large number of people and vehicles entering and leaving the port, the District Steering Committee requires coastal communes, the Fishing Port Management Board, and the Border Guard Station to be on duty at the port to check and remind people not to gather in large numbers; ships returning to shore must anchor at a distance; assign communes with vessels and boats that need to return to their localities to anchor, avoiding gathering at one docking point. Thanks to good implementation of regulations, in the recent past, the work of ensuring epidemic prevention and controlCovid-19 epidemicat fishing ports are guaranteed; traders and vehicles entering fishing ports are strictly controlled, there is no jostling to buy seafood like before.
Quynh Luu has a large number of vessels with nearly 1,200, of which more than 700 are offshore fishing vessels. Every time the moon is gone, hundreds of fishing vessels return to shore with nearly 2,000 crew members, plus a group of workers and traders coming to the port to buy seafood, so the fishing port is very crowded./.
