Quynh Luu: African swine fever re-emerges, checkpoints are 'abandoned'
(Baonghean.vn) - This June, African swine fever re-emerged in Quynh My and Quynh Hung communes (Quynh Luu), forcing the district People's Committee to re-announce the epidemic. However, these two localities are still negligent and subjective about this dangerous epidemic for pigs.
Returning to the African swine fever outbreak in Quynh My and Quynh Hung communes (Quynh Luu) on the morning of June 30, although these localities have set up temporary epidemic control checkpoints, there is no sign of any force on duty at the checkpoints.

Disinfection pits are not "cared for" so they are torn, dry, and no longer effective in disinfecting vehicles passing by.
Maybe due to the hot weather, the guards were negligent and abandoned their positions. The commune still assigned forces to be on duty 24/7 during the epidemic.

People in Quynh My and Quynh Hung communes hope that local authorities will do a good job of controlling the epidemic so that the district can soon announce the end of the epidemic, so that people can feel secure in raising pigs, especially households with pigs ready to be sold.
Previously, Quynh My and Quynh Hung communes of Quynh Luu district were the two localities where the first outbreak occurred in Nghe An from mid-March 2019.

Thirty days later, the District People's Committee issued a decision to declare the end of African swine fever in these two localities. However, in mid-June, the epidemic recurred in these two communes, forcing the Quynh Luu District People's Committee to re-declare African swine fever.
Quynh Luu is one of the districts with complicated developments of African swine fever. Therefore, to control well and soon control the epidemic, local authorities need to seriously implement prevention and control work.
