28 F0 related to 3 karaoke bars operating "illegally"

Since the beginning of the epidemic, Quynh Luu district has recorded 1,078 people infected with COVID-19, 2 deaths. From January 1, 2022 to January 20, 2022 alone, 362 cases were recorded. The number of patients being treated is 280. The number of F1 cases in quarantine is 250. The number of people being monitored for health is 50.

At this time, Quynh Luu district has 4 particularly noteworthy outbreaks, including 3 outbreaks at 3 karaoke bars and 1 outbreak at a hotel. Specifically:

The outbreak at Karaoke 68 (Quynh Chau commune) has 10 F0, including 9 employees and 1 customer. The outbreak was discovered on the night of January 19 when an employee showed symptoms, tested positive on-site, then called the medical station to test and discovered. The infection was announced on the morning of January 20. Tracing to date has found 14 people to be F1.

Outbreak at Karaoke Bich Que (Cau Giat town): There are 7 F0s, of which the first 5 F0s are employees of the bar discovered on the night of January 18; then 1 more case of a Quynh Lam customer discovered on the morning of January 20 and 1 person from Tuong Duong district who came to the bar was discovered on January 19. Tracing to date, there are 10 people who are F1s. This outbreak is related to the Karaoke 68 outbreak.

The outbreak at Karaoke Quynh Minh has 11 F0, of which, 7 employees were detected on the afternoon of January 17 (there was 1 case of an employee with symptoms so he went to the medical station to get tested, 6 cases were detected) and 4 cases were customers. Tracing up to now has 60 people as F1. No factors related to the 2 karaoke bars above have been found.

The outbreak at Song Mo Hotel (Quynh Yen commune) has 1 manager and 4 employees who are F0. The outbreak was discovered on the afternoon of January 19 when the police requested periodic testing and discovered it. Currently, the authorities are investigating F1.

It is worth mentioning that in recent times, Quynh Luu district has not allowed non-essential services to resume operations, including karaoke. These establishments are operating “illegally”.

Proactively and flexibly implement strict regulations on epidemic prevention and control

In Quynh Luu district, as of January 19, the rate of people aged 18 and over who received at least one injection was 181,342, reaching 98.1%. The rate of people aged 12 and over who received at least one injection was 206,699, reaching 98%. The rate of people aged 18 and over who had received two injections was 177,899, reaching 96.2%. The rate of people aged 12 and over who had received two injections was 201,774, reaching 96%. The rate of people aged 18 and over who had received three injections was 46,852, reaching 25.3%. The rate of people aged 12 and over who had received three injections was 46,852, reaching 22.2%.

At the meeting, the delegates focused on analyzing and evaluating the COVID-19 epidemic situation in Quynh Luu district. Accordingly, Quynh Luu district is at high risk of COVID-19 outbreak before, during and after this Lunar New Year.

Speaking at the meeting, Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Deputy Commander of the COVID-19 Prevention and Control Command Center of Nghe An province stated:Quynh Luu district needs to direct communes, towns and related units to seriously implement the national and provincial directions in preventing and fighting the COVID-19 epidemic; need to be flexible and proactive in developing scenarios and plans to prevent and fight the epidemic according to the actual situation.

The district needs to continue to strengthen monitoring of cases of people returning from outside the province; require full health declaration; encourage people to take tests when returning to the locality; and should consider stopping crowded activities for 7-14 days to prevent and control the epidemic.

Quynh Luu district also needs to continue to review and guide industrial parks and factories to strictly implement epidemic prevention and control at production sites; review and quickly vaccinate all people of all ages against COVID-19; promote communication work to raise awareness of epidemic prevention and control, avoid subjectivity with the epidemic; strengthen inspection and supervision of compliance with epidemic prevention and control regulations; provide maximum support to localities to ensure social security for people... Activate and "reheat" the activities of community COVID-19 teams.
