Inviting each other to go swimming in the pond, two children tragically drowned

Mr. Nguyen Van Thach - Chairman of the People's Committee of My Thanh commune confirmed the above information and said that the two victims were Le Kim Dat (born 2010) and Nguyen Vinh Duc (born 2011), both residing in hamlet 13A, My Thanh commune.

Initial information, around the late afternoon of July 9, due to the hot weather, two children Dat and Duc invited each other to go to the pond near a household in the neighborhood to bathe. Because it had rained before, the pond was deep, the water was high and they did not know how to swim, so both children unfortunately drowned.

At around 6 p.m. the same day, the parents of the two children did not see their children return. Hearing someone report that they had seen Dat and Duc hanging around a neighbor's pond, they hurriedly went to look for them and discovered two pairs of sandals and the children's clothes on the shore, so they called for help.

Upon receiving the news, local authorities, health station staff and local people rushed to search for the two children. They found them in the pond and performed first aid but they had already died.

The victims' bodies were immediately handed over to their families for burial according to local customs.

This is the fifth drowning accident in Yen Thanh district since the beginning of summer, so parents need to further strengthen the management of their children to prevent unfortunate accidents from happening./.
