Thus, from the morning of April 16 until now, for exactly 5 days, Vietnam has had no new cases of Covid-19. This is a "record" recorded up to this point in the epidemic prevention work in our country, while before, there were days with more than ten new cases - on March 22 there were 19 new cases; on March 30 there were 15 new cases.
The number of new Covid-19 cases has been decreasing since the implementation of social distancing policies. From April 1 to 14, the number of new cases decreased by 40% compared to the previous 2 weeks. Since April 15, only 3 new cases have been recorded.
According to the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, in Vietnam, only 8 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded last week, while 64 patients have recovered. The highest number of new cases in the week was recorded on April 13 with 5 cases, the following 3 days only recorded 1 new case each day and 4 consecutive days from April 17-20 recorded no new cases. This shows that the current epidemic situation in Vietnam is well controlled and shows the effectiveness of social distancing in recent weeks.
