Morning of May 25: 57 more positive cases; Prosecution of super-infectious case in Hai Duong

The Ministry of Health on the morning of May 25 recorded 57 positive cases in the country, including 45 in Bac Giang, 2 in Bac Ninh, 4 in Hanoi, 4 in Lang Son and 2 in Ha Nam.

The number of new infections raised the total number of infections in Bac Giang to 1,069, Bac Ninh to 507, Hanoi to 308 (including 89 cases at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, 48 ​​cases at K Hospital), Lang Son to 41, and Ha Nam to 36.

The number of community infections from April 27 to now has increased to 2,406 cases, in 30 provinces and cities. There are 6 provinces including: Yen Bai, Quang Ngai, Dong Nai, Nghe An, Quang Ninh, Quang Nam have gone 14 days without recording new cases. The number of tests from April 29 to now has been 890,454 tests for 1,629,867 people.

Meanwhile, Hai Duong City Police have just issued a decision to prosecute Dao Duy Tung (32 years old) for the crime of "Spreading dangerous infectious diseases to people", stipulated in Clause 1, Article 240 of the Penal Code.

At the end of March 2021, Tung illegally left for Laos and contacted his cousin, D.VT (42 years old, from Nhi Chau ward, Hai Duong city), who was working there.
On April 22, Tung illegally entered Vietnam. From April 23 to May 5, he rented rooms at many hotels in Hai Phong City and stayed with his girlfriend. During this time, talking on the phone, Tung received information from Mr. D.VT that some acquaintances they had been in contact with in Laos had contracted Covid-19.

At this time, despite having symptoms of cough, fever, and sore throat, Tung still did not go to the medical facility to declare but asked his girlfriend to call medical staff to come and give him an IV and injection at the hotel.

On the morning of May 5, suspect Tung went to Medlatec Hai Duong Testing Center for testing. While waiting for the test results, he still traveled to Hanoi. When the test results confirmed positive for SARS-CoV-2, Tung was admitted to Hai Duong Tropical Diseases Hospital for treatment.

There were 2 F1 cases of the male patient who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, Ms. NTT (21 years old, girlfriend) and Ms. PPTh. (23 years old), both employees of the New KTV karaoke bar in Hai Phong. After that, many other people who had contact with the F1 cases of the male patient also contracted Covid-19. However, when working with the disease prevention and control agency, the defendant Tung gave a roundabout statement, causing many difficulties for the investigation and tracing of related people.
